The Bait
The pair of bounty hunters drew all kinds of looks as they entered the bar, there was nothing to stop those in that field of work from entering. But it attracted a mixture of emotions: fear, hatred, desire, and others. Certain folks scowled at them. Others, fugitives mainly, hid behind their booths worried that their time on the run was up. Jodo Kast found a place to sit, Trodd sat opposite him and summoned over a catering droid. "Get us something good to eat, both with drinks," he explained.
The droid bobbed its head up and down to acknowledge the order. "As you wish," it said in a tinny electronic voice. In a flash, it then darted towards the bar to hand over the order.
"Only think droids are convenient for," Puggles Trodd huffed. "So these people we are looking for, when do you think they'll bother appearing?" he asked Jodo Kast.
"Sooner than later I hope."
"What if they decide not to appear? What then?"
"They'll show. One thing about this rebellion that's sparking up about the place is that if you give them a scent of something suspicious then you can guarantee they'll be on it fast." Kast paused, interrupted by the droid returning with their drinks. "Thanks," Kast said taking the drink.
"Payment, if you please," the droid chirped. Puggles Trodd sighed and tossed a bundle of credits onto the droid's serving tray. "Thank you!"
Trodd huffed again and turned back to Kast: "Alright, now continue."
"As I was saying, if you leave bait this rebellion will come. We know our guy is nearby on Nal Hutta, it's safe to assume there won't be any other rebels in this part of Hutt Space. He'll come for the bait."
"How can you be so sure that there aren't any other rebels in these parts? Why are you so confident?"
Kast shook his head. "There won't be, the Hutts don't work with anyone. They wouldn't go anywhere near this alliance. It just isn't how they operate."
"You're telling me!" Puggles Trodd started to laugh loudly, multiple eyes turned towards him. "Nobody knows how those damn Hutts operate like me. I've got plenty of experience with their kind."
"Then you should know why I'm so confident about this." Jodo Kast said, then he connected a tube that ran by his breastplate to the cup. It carried the liquids up into his helmet so he could drink.
"Enjoying that?"
Kast nodded. "One thing I can't complain about Nar Shaddaa is that they sure do know how to brew a drink down here."
"For sure." Puggles leaned closer towards Jodo Kast. "So Jodo, what's the bait?" he asked in a whispery voice.
