An Hour Late
River was uncomfortable as she sat in the old bar and watched people mingle. Her contact was supposed to be here an hour ago, but here she was, still waiting.
And waiting.
And waiting!
"Anything else, ma'am?" The waitress asked, pulling the bounty hunter's attention from the crowd. She gave the girl a once over and found nothing threatening about her. It never hurt to keep an eye on everyone around these days. Her last job had, after all, almost gotten her head blown off.
Letting out a sigh, she brushed back her dark locks of hair. "Just another glass of this." She pointed to her drink that was still half full. The waitress got an annoyed look on her face, but went to get said drink. Honestly, River wasn't quite sure what it even was. All she knew was it was nasty and it relaxed her.
She needed to relax since it seemed her contact for her next job was a no show. Leaning onto her table, a hand tapped fingers along it. "First job in months and the guy is a total flake..." She grumbles and kept tapping her fingers. It was a nervous habit she had developed since the "almost-lost-her-head" incident.
What was she going to do? She needed money and there was no where to go.
