Personality

Thane is a very earnest person, never having much use for lying when the truth often proves more helpful. That doesn't mean he isn't above the occasional 'exaggeration', especially when it serves his interest, like helping to keep him alive.

He's always had a knack for machines, it was this fascination with them that led him into adventure, and trouble. Always eager to make new friends, but has a bit of a chip on his shoulder when it comes to pushy people of authority and his temper has gotten him into trouble more then once.
Fortunately he's handy with a blaster as well as a hydrospanner.

History

Thane Leoth was born on Dantooine, the son of a former republic officer whom served with distinction during the Clone Wars, but left the service after the Jedi Purge and the rise of the Galactic Empire, refusing to speak of it. Thane worked on the farm his father established, along with his 2 brothers and 1 sister, becoming self taught when it came to mechanical repairs and maintenance at a young age.

Later, he began work at the spaceport, a small one that was a hold over from the Clone Wars and used mainly as a refueling and repair stop for spacers, it gave him the chance to discover his love of ships, even befriending several pilots and learning from them what they had to teach.

Deciding that he wanted more than to be a simple farmer stuck on an unimportant mud ball, he decided to stow away aboard a departing freighter after his father refused his desire to enter the Imperial Academy or to sign on with a ship. Unfortunately for Thane, he had stowed away aboard a smuggler's vessel whom were none to pleased to find a stowaway. Fortunately, they needed an engineer and Thane proved his skills, which convinced the captain not to space him and brought him onto the crew.
