The Flirt pt 1
Gabriel walked through the gates to the city of Ice Crest. “Lock your doors and hold your partner close, Gabriel has arrived!” he said, throwing his arms out, and his head back slightly, his black scarf blowing in the wind. “You are not ready for Gabriel.”
As he passed a guard, “Sir.” the guard called out to Gabriel, who froze in place.
“Yeees?” Gabriel responded back, still facing the guards.
“Are you not cold?” The guard asked. Gabriel took a look down at himself all lithe body and pale skin, eyes scanning his pale exposed shoulders he cocked his head slightly leaning it back slightly, moving in a fluid serpentine motion, coming up to the guard.
“Was that an offer to keep me warm?” Gabriel asked, running a pointer finger under the guard's chin, making him look up at Gabriel’ pale amber eyes. By the slight weight on his finger Gabriel could tell the man’s knees buckled slightly at his soft touch, flicking off the end of the man’s chin with a light scrape of the manicured nail.
“What…no I was simply going to suggest a tailor.” the guard stammered, his comrade looking at him with raised eyebrows.
Gabriel smiled. “Oh…shame.”
As Gabriel walked away he overheard the guard he teased telling the other to ‘shut up’, chuckling to himself. “So easy.”
Gabriel walked towards the centre of town looking for an inn or tavern. He wanted a drink and maybe someone to take him up on the offer the guard turned down. Not that it was much of a loss anyway, a person in uniform could be as attractive as the next, but sometimes you have to be discerning and that guard wasn’t someone Gabriel would write home about.
Gabriel moved with a semi-slouched aloof movement, both confident and purposeful but with a sense of approachability and laid back. No matter where he was, Gabriel was a stand out person, here doubly so. His pale all over features gave him a strangely angelic quality. His nearly white golden hair, his milk white flawless skin, is pale amber eyes. Turning the head of everyone he passed.
Gabriel passed a few women doing their daily shopping giving them a little smile and wave, causing the women to giggle like young girls and blush all turning away embarrassed at their redding faces. “I like this place.” Gabriel mused, giving everyone he passed the same little smile and wave to varying reactions.
Gabriel eventually reached a tavern, the muffled din of music coming through the wooden door, bombarded him as he opened the door and the music poured into the streets. “Lively, splendid.” walking in like a regular. Leaning on the bar and putting his chin in his head. “One ale please.” he said, slipping a coin across the bar, getting back a mug bigger than he expected. “All this for one silver?” He asked. “Make it myself.” the old bartender grumbled. “Cut out the middleman and you can sell more this way,” he added. “That all?” he asked Gabriel.
“Nope that’s all for now.” Gabriel said, taking his mug of ale and looking for a place to sit. “My wiles will not work on bar man…noted. Although…this is a lot of ale.” he responded to his own thoughts with a shrug. “Either way.”
Gabriel sat and took a drink. It was actually very very good. Guess making it in house and not having it travel all this way made for a better product. Gabriel sat by himself drinking the large mug of ale. A few sips in the door opened to the tavern and four men stepped in. One scanning all the patrons before landing on Gabriel pointing him out. “There he is.”
They stomped over. Gabriel unable to see them over the mug he was tilting back. One of the four men put a finger on the bottom of the mug and tilted it down so Gabriel could see them. “We need to talk.”
“Oh. Okay.” Gabriel said confused, like the was missing something. “About?”
“You talking to our girls.” another spoke up.
“Yeah.” the other two agreed in tandem
“Your…girls?” Gabriel asked.
“You flirted with them outside.” one of them said.
“I’m confused.” Gabriel responded. “I’ve only talked to a guard since I got here…oh and the bartender. But that was more business than pleasure.” Gabriel responded.
“Don’t get fancy with me.” their ‘leader’ said. “Let's take this outside.”
“I think we can talk about this.” Gabriel said, “Why don’t we all just sit down and talk like civilised people.”
“Now!” the leader barked, slamming his hands on the table.
Gabriel laughed nervously “Can I at least finish my drink first?” he asked. Realising he might be in for a different kind of action then he’d planned.
