Fresh Brewed
Hearing the words about how coffee sounded good from the young man passing them on the track. Rose and Sam both smiled.
Once more around the track and the two girls were done. Rose was getting tired and they both wanted to get a shower, and some coffee before classes started for the day.
Their schedules had lined up fairly well with only a few classes they didn't have together. They both had gymnastics but Rose had taken studio arts while Sam had taken photography. They both had decided on Spanish. There might have been another class or two which they didn't end up together in but overall their schedules were pretty similar which wasn't planned just how it turned out.
Rose already knew Italian because her parents company had headquarters in a few places, not just New York, one of them was Milan, Italy. Her father had insisted that she take Italian from a young age. So, it wasn't that Rose was gifted at languages or anything like that she had just done that one language for so long and spent time in Italy.
They made their way from the showers, to getting dressed and ready, grabbing their backpacks, they easily found the area of the coffee cart. Which was where a majority of the students seemed to also be.
Rose ordered first, an expresso which was her chosen caffeine inundation at the moment. No sugar or cream. Sam ordered a regular coffee with one sugar and cream. Both girls liked the specialty coffee's as well but not this early in the morning.
After a few waves from some of the gymnastics team members that both of them knew and a few hellos from others they found a bench to sit on and took a moment to sip their coffees and look around. Rose noticed a girl who she thought had been in that little group that JD had been speaking to the other day but didn't really look that familiar.
They both noticed one of the guys who had been jogging on the track. The same one that had made the coffee comment. Rose and Sam raised their cups a little towards him as in a salute; not completely sure if he would notice or care much about it.
"It seems like everyone's here." Rose didn't imply anything by that as she was just making an observation.
"See I told you the world runs on caffeine." Sam smiled.
