Jotun's Heart of Stone pt.2

As his sobs began to lessen, he looked to see the Sophie had gone. Moving to a sitting position, he cleaned his face and heaved himself to his feet. Still surrounded by darkness, he was grateful the others were not there to witness his breakdown.
"So high and mighty, eh Giant?"
His sorrow turned to blind rage at the new voice that joined him.
"SHOW YOURSELF FALSE GOD!! DO YOU FEAR MY RAGE?"
A figure entered into the light around Erik, a figure that made the Jotun's blood boil. The jesters smile remained as he easily dodged a crushing strike from a warhammer.
"Temper temper. We all know how it has been for you in the past."
Glaring at this mirage, Erik roared as he began a barrage of attacks against it. Harlequin didn't even try to dodge this time, simply watching the growing hole beneath him.
"It is futile great one. I am not real and I had believed you smart enough to know this."
"I do not care! If I only destroy an image of you, it is a victory all the same!"
Laughing at Erik's pointless attacks, Harlequin allowed him to finish his tantrum before speaking again.
"Why do you hate me so? It was I who set you free."
Being reduced to taking a knee, Erik used his hammer to balance himself in order to glare once more.
"I despise you.... I rejected your offer and yet you took CONTROL of my own body. Those people were not yours to kill!"
Too tired to cry or rage, he simply continued glared at the fake Harlequin.
"I do not owe you a debt. I refuse to fall under your sway. My thoughts are tormented by the decisions of a child, a bastard child scorned by his bastard father,"
This got a different response from Harlequin, the mirage sporting a scowl.
"Hush your tongue. My powers allow me to control this image without even requiring my knowledge of it. You remain safe only because I am not here in person."
Laughing hoarsely, Erik found the strength to stand again.
"Then I make this promise. You remain safe only because you are not here in person. When I finish aiding the others in your dirty work, you will know my rage."
Walking past the mirage, he found his strength returning to him. He just had to find the others and finish the quest.
