I had a thought.
Like I often do.
Worldbuilding is something I think we all take great joy and pride in. So I was thinking, like I often do, about making a game centred around just that. Each player would take the role of a leader of a fantasy nation in a fantasy world and design them to their heart's content. Basic rules about the world could be established beforehand, such as magic, technology, and so on.
The roleplaying wouldn't just centre around just player-on-player interaction, as characters could be separated by a distance of several hundred miles, but between the nations.
And to prevent players from god-modding their nation, which I think would be easier to do for nations than for characters, all major actions that a nation takes would have to go through the GM, or GMs, who could either make a decision of what was best or use a random number generate and a table of possible events.
I got the inspiration from Crusader Kings 2, a fantastically addictive game that I have currently had to give up to study for exams, as well as the other Paradox games. As I play, I write the history of the character I am playing and the nation I am leading. It's good fun, and I think a similar concept, of nation-leading, could translate well into a PbP format.
It would be a very free-form sort of game, with maybe a few big events to get everyone to focus on one thing, and would be fairly slow paced in nature.
What do we all think?
