The Dark Urge convinced the Emperor to dominate the Netherbrain. The Emperor used the Netherbrain to dominate all infected with a tadpole. The Dark Urge and the others became his general. Karlach had previously turned herself into a Mind Flayer to avoid her Infernal Engine from on the verge of death became a Mind Flayer. Jaheira & Halsin the only companions not to be tadpoled were brought into the fold. Everyone in Baldur's Gate who wasn't a companion of the Dark Urge was turned into a Mind Flayer. Once Baldur's Gate was under his control he began to plan his conquest of every realm.
