OOC - SciFi Sunday

It was Doctor Who's 57th anniversary last week, and I found myself being drawn back into that universe. Primarily I began listening to the Big Finish audio dramas while I am at work, although have been gripping enough so far that I probably distracts me more than it should!
But Doctor Who is an old programme and while I greatly enjoy many aspects of it, it doesn't feel as new and exciting as it did when I was younger. I've found myself with a sort of drought of decent science-fiction programming lately, although that's probably a good reason to actually work through the back catalogue of books sitting on my shelf.
What science-fiction stories, old or new, have you recently been watching or reading or listening to? Have they given you any inspiration for a new character or a new game?
