Heya. I love lore, I enjoy seeing the little intricacies of what led up to this moment in the plot. One of the things I enjoyed through a lot of my early years on the internet was Runescape. I am talking about OSR, or Runescape 2. Classic Runescape still existed, blocked by paid subscription. Many a days I played on this game, roaming the fields just outside the gleaming white walls of Falador or crossing over the Lum River to fight goblins infesting the area. And north, past the stalwart defenses of the Kingdom of Varrock, the wasteland of death and fire of the Wild.
But what also draws my attention, even today, is the backstory. Particularly since it explains much of the current day mechanics of the universe. This is the God War that ravaged the area known as the Wild and tore many factions apart. In any fiction, God Wars are a thing of apocalyptic proportions. But it was a time of high magic, and sheer utter survival in the face of total war.
I was wondering, would anyone be opposed to fight out that God War? Some would be Gods, yes. Others mortals. And the theme? Utter. $%@&+ CHAOS.
My memories of the game was often of chaos, with spells slinging from the near infinite stocked mages and devastating prayer priests. And through it all, the knights and archers somehow wade through it all.
Just a mindless, sputtering spur of thought.
