OOC - Help Wanted by our Sponsors

Hey Platformers, the purpose of this post is to present two separate requests for aid from the Ongoing Worlds Community from two of OW's big cheeses, those being David Ball and Charles Star.

The first request is one that David Ball asked of us in May when he reminded us of the Hero Membership option. I will admit that I was rather skeptical of this, as having my avatar emblazoned on my posts isn't a huge deal to me and I don't feel like paying money makes me cool, but if you, like me, don't really care about the Hero Membership perks, but you are a fan of Ongoing Worlds, look at it this way:

David Ball is paying around 30 USD a month to host Ongoing Worlds for us. Considering that he doesn't really use the website much these days as far as I can tell, that means that he is mostly continuing to support it for our sake. Last I checked, there were only 7 total hero members, which would mean that less than half of this cost is covered by the people who actually use the website each month. This means that David is losing a fair bit of money to support our hobby.

All that to say, if the perks of Hero Membership don't thrill you enough to seriously consider it, ask yourself the following questions:

1. Would I be upset if Ongoing Worlds stopped being a thing?
2. Do I have a stable income and a comfortable cash cushion?

If the answer to both those questions is yes, I would encourage you to consider throwing in the 2 USD a month to be a Hero Member. Yes, you could just donate a onetime sum of your choice, but I do believe that the sense of stability that comes with the monthly donations provides greater peace of mind to our generous host. I know he will definetly appreciate your support!

The second request is a recent and rather urgent one from Charles Star. Those of you who have been following the Ongoing Worlds Blog probably noticed that Ongoing Worlds is going to be hosting a Game Show sim in the near future (the blog post can be found at http://www.ongoingworlds.com/blog/2019/07/simming-the-game-show/ ). For this event, Charles Star is seeking a graphics artist who can do the following things:

• Normalize/standardize the avatars (size and format) of all of the contestant (13), guests (9), and staff (2).

• Create avatars for the sim characters (13)

• Create a title banner for the game show

• Create a title banner for the sim

• Create a title banner for the game show with all of the contestant avatars (just heads) added

• Each week edit the title banner with heads to x-out those eliminated

• Plus any other spot graphics necessary
