First, hello to all! I’m excited to have found the site. I had two ideas I was mulling over for games, but I don’t want to overextend or saturate the board, so I was hoping to maybe get some feedback or advice before jumping in head first.
1. Is it a good time to start a new game? I’m new and I’ve been poking around at a few of the latest games. I think the first thing I would do is get a co-mod, RL happens, safety in numbers.
2. I have a concept/ plot ideas for a firefly universe game based on the second unification war after the events of Serenity. It would take place on an arrowhead class ship, the captain doesn’t want to be drawn into another war, but circumstances may force his hand. I have a few plot lines in mind, missions the ship would run and such, and it combines space marines and space cowboys, two of my favorite things.
Or
3. I have a magic school (Hogwarts) based concept which would focus on one of the non Gryffindor houses, it following the same storyline as the books. Ie: Harry Potter is there, so is Ron and Hermione, but you don’t much associate with them because you aren’t in the same house. I took the idea from the play Puffs, which was amazingly funny and well done. In any case, it would be the same story saw through different eyes. Plus there were other “non save the world” storylines that could be played out. I’d pick one house to focus on. Most likely Slytherin, half the parents are in Azkaban, I think there is story potential. Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw have potential too, but I think Slytherin would be angstiest. And there’s more Snape.
I read the blog about creating new games, and I want to pick one concept or the other to map out. Can anyone whose been here for a bit maybe help give me some insight? If neither, that’s fine too, I’m good with going back to the drawing board.
Thanks!
Edit: I found a spelling error in my post and corrected it, so I think I lost the disqus comments, but I did read them and I thank you all for the input! I then found it on the disqus site. I’m so not Ravenclaw.
