Disappointment / Sinner

"Uh, no no, you must heard the Inn Keeper here. She saw a mouse, and as it so happens, the poor woman is dreadfully afraid of them. Unless the elf can transform into a tiny rodent there is so far no trace of him."

Oru looked at the Keeper, examining her face, before simply muttering,"Hmmph."

He could have sworn that scream was Kalena's, but it wasn't like he personally knew the woman. Either way, he dismissed the thought.

"Honestly, all of the noise we've made today, I wouldn't be surprised if he's slipped out behind our backs. If someone had cooperated earlier, we probably would have caught him by now. I'll go an check the rest of the rooms, but if they're empty I wouldn't be surprised."

With that, Oru returned to the other side of the building, disappointment filling him with every empty room.

"Damn Elf."

About A Fortnight Ago
Ragodast
An Hour Before Midnight

As the door swung open, the woman at the counter turned. A rather young man stood in front of the now closed door, surveying the with his one eye; his other eye was closed shut. He was the son of a witch, part vampire, but with all of the other things floating around in his blood, the vampiric part of him didn't really matter or show. No one knew his name, and last he checked, no one cared. But he had to be called something. He chose Outrider. Had a ring to it.

"Hello, how can I help you sir."

The man's expression was rather sinister, his eye finally locked on to the clerk, who flinched under his gaze as if the young man's eyesight could physically touch him. As if that wasn't bad enough, the man began to walk over to the counter.

"C-can I help you?" The woman at the counter said again, the fear more than audible in her voice.

"I'm looking for a...merchant. By the name of Guntar, I believe."

"That man...Ahem..I don't believe a man by that name resides here."

Outrider nodded, looking around the interior of the the building's lobby.

"But of course." Outrider simply said, his voice suddenly taking on a more sinister tone, as if it had finally caught up with his expression.

"I'm sure that merchant would never lie his head in this...dump. Too bad he isn't exactly sleeping here."

"Sir! What exactly is your business here?"

Outrider smiled, not an inch of compassion in his eye. As the woman saw his sharp, beast-like teeth, she let out a gasp.

"Sometimes, people sin. They steal, lie, break things. And when things break, someone's gotta pick up the pieces."

He turned to a door in the far corner of the room. It was slightly opened; it wasn't a minute ago.

"We all sin, don't we?"

Outrider smiled as he stepped away from the counter. He clenched his fist tight as the door swung open. First was the orc.

The woman at the counter sat, eyes wide as Outrider exited the back room. He turned to her, blood splattered across his face, the blood wasn't his own.

"OH MY, PLEASE DON'T HURT ME!" She shrieked. Outrider responded with a chuckle, before leaving the building.

It was night at the time. As Outrider walked, he heard an old man's voice.

"Please sir, do ya have some coin to spare?"

Outrider turned to the beggar, not bothering to hide his right eye now. The glow it gave off was so luminescent that it illuminated the rest of his face in the darkness of night. The old man drew his cup in, eyes suddenly wide as he stared upon this creature of a man before him. Outrider opened his mouth slightly, not necessarily smiling or frowning, before crouching down so that he was eye level with the old beggar.

"S-sir, I didn't mean w-what I, I'm fine, I don't-" The beggar was interrupted as Outrider brought his finger to the man's lips.

"Shhhhhhhh."

He reached into his coat, and the beggar began to panic, thinking he was going for a dagger. Instead, he pulled out a coin, one, singular coin, and placed it into the beggar's cup. With that, he stood and turned away.

The beggar examined the coin in the moonlight, it had a silvery color, but the design on the coin, it wasn't that of a silver coin. The beggar's eyes opened wide as he looked up to Outrider.

"This can be a..."

"But it is. Platinum. Enjoy," Outrider said, walking away as if he had no idea the worth of the coin he had just given away.

"Sir...this is...Madness!"

Outrider chuckled as he walked, before calling back to the beggar.

"Madness? Ha ha, No... that would be an understatement."
