Splitting up/Making a plan

“I guess that’s fair enough, though you are wrong about who will be slowing down who” he said with a smirk “But fine, if you insist on travelling through this monster infested forest, then I won’t stop you”. Even though it annoyed him a bit he didn’t let it show at all and mounted his horse. He had a job to do and this woman would probably just screw it up anyway if she tagged along.

He turned his horse around, ready to head back to the trail to continue his search, but before leaving he smiled back at woman and nodded slightly “It was a pleasure meeting you, miss. Good luck.”. She’s crazy, but in this way, she won’t be attracting any monster around me at least he thought as he started to ride away.

Despite being tired Sabina was unable to fall asleep so she decided to grab her book of spells and read in it. She kept reading through the same spell, the one she was preparing for, trying to make sure she would get it right this time. Actually, she only needed a few more ingredients, but because of her terrible failure last time she had been starting to think of something else: Maybe it would be better if she could find someone who actually was good at using magic already? After all she did still have quite a lot of money, so she should be able to pay for it. It probably wasn’t that difficult to find a mage or something, but to find someone who would be willing to sacrifice a person’s life while trying to bring another back from the dead, now that couldn’t be easy. And it looked like she didn’t have much time. The salve, Gareth, she had brought for the sacrificial part didn’t look too well and appeared to be fading fast.

She looked towards him one more time. He hadn’t moved at all since she had secured him to that tree, but when looking closely she could see that at least he was still breathing. When looking at him she started to feel sorry for him, but caught herself in doing so. No! I must not start to think like that. He is only a slave and is already feeling miserable so sacrificing him will almost be more merciful than to keep him alive like this she tried to convince herself by saying so, but nonetheless she felt like she had to do something that would make things a bit more bearable for him in the meantime. She put her book away once more and grabbed the small key she had been given by the slaver when she’d bought the guy, the key to the chains around his hands, neck and that terrible muzzle. As quietly as a mouse she moved towards him, careful not to wake him, removed the blanket that covered him slightly so she could get to his head. Carefully she unlocked the muzzle and then his hands before moving away from him once more. Luckily, he didn’t react at all to her touch or any of the metallic noises. She let out a small sigh of relieve when she was finally back at a safe distance from him, not that she knew what he was capable of, but the way h had been chained up the he had to be dangerous. For the next couple of minutes, she just sat by the fire and watched him, but when he still didn’t move she decided to take yet another chance. She filled a bowl with water and placed it within his reach together with a couple of apples and dried meat she’d had with her from her home. That has to be enough to keep him alive just a little longer she thought to herself as she once more settled down by the small campfire she’d made.

With that part of her problems being dealt with, now she just needed to think of some way of finding a mage who would be willing to help her with the spell.
