Oruvand's crossbow was in his hand as Kalena left the Brothel.
"Well, that could have gone better..." Oru said, having witnessed the scene from the window. He would have intervened, but he did he was positive someone would have died or at least been injured in his wake. But, then again, maybe the outcome would have been better.
The hunter was half tempted to open fire through the window even now, but alas, he knew he'd be no better than the man he was hunting, and such an act would hurt his image. No, he had to be professional. Or he had to try, at the least.
“This is still your operation. What do you want to do now?”
Oru rested his crossbow over his shoulder staring through the window, eyes flicking back and forth between various things inside the building. He gathered his thoughts for a moment, before saying, "Here's how this is going to go down."
Oru reached into a small pack on his belt, before pulling out a small back of coins. He took six from the bag, before returning said bag to its flap.
"I'm going to pay for two rooms, that way, at least one may be close to the Elf's room. If the Inn Keeper or that body guard of hers tries anything funny, we're going to take this place by force. The apprehension of this criminal is worth far more than the respect, or, Gods forbid, the lives of a measly Innkeeper and her guard. If I signal you or if that brute of a man so much as breaths on me, open fire."
With that, he walked forward into the Inn, grim faced. His crossbow swung lazily from his right hand as the left contained the coins. He didn't even bother to look toward the injured guard, or waste anytime hesitating. He simply approached the counter, before placing his six gold coins down onto it. No Inn Oru had ever heard of charged much more than that, unless of course, said Inn was luxury and this particular Inn was far from luxury.
"I'd like two rooms, one for myself, of course, and one for my friend outside."
If this was what it took to capture this criminal, then so be it.
