I wrote this and for some reason Disque marked it as spam
So a bit about the plot so far, this is what is happening and perhaps to explain some motives and reasons behind the events that have occurred. I will want to define some things first; there is Sarx with the Emerald Scarves, I will refer to them as the ES, there is also Randel we can refer to him as R, as well as the Fey, we can call them F. There may be other parties involved as well we have not defined, such as who this driver is actually working for if he does want to kill Sarx.
First, why the attack and murder of Van. Initially that was to be a killing because Van stumbled on the killers. This was changed in the writing to look like a homicide. One we still do not have a clear motive for, and his soul was taken, hinting at the use of a necromancer, later found out to be Hemlock(Why she has not been questioned is what I am wondering?). This act was prompted by R looking to steal Kline’s cash, to force him to barrow from R and thus get in debt so R can use Kline’s holdings as a means to support his endeavors to undermine the Queen, specifically to use Kline’s holdings to move freed slaves out of the land.
Second, R had a backup plan, and this was to get Kalena to barrow the Queen’s hounds so he could find a means to avoid them in the future. This would require assistance and thus he got the ES to work with him in exchange for his helping them become more legit and accepted. They would use a unicorn to draw the dogs in and capture one of them. Then with some blood and hair from the hound, he could come up with a way to avoid them. This is why they needed to take the soul, and because they would need a way to keep the people from summoning the dead to report on who killed them. This is why Van’s soul was taken.
Third, the sword, this would be the work of the fey. They have Van’s soul, and they would need a place to hide it, so the F came up with a wild scheme. Have the best blacksmith in the land forge him into a weapon. It was ironic and vicious and funny, and I am sure the F would get a laugh out of it. F motives are not always clear or rational.
Fourth, the driver and the bomb. I did not understand the motive with Sarx killing them at the house, so I mixed it up a bit and have this driver looking to kill Sarx. I am sure that she has a good number of enemies and he is just one, or works for one. I also thought it might provide a good chance to him to be used to get to Sarx.
That is how I see things; this does not mean this is how they are. This is just how I see them and if I missed some details or some such let me know. I will also say this is not a competition, there is no winning or losing, it is for fun. If writing is not fun, do not feel compelled to write. If the plot is not fun then do something to make it fun and entertaining. If it feel unfair, find out what it is that is unfair, do you feel like you do not have enough of a voice in the plot, or that your character is not doing enough? What would make it more fair?
