OOC - JP between myself and Keats:DWho: Amber, JohnWhere: Amber's MindWhen: After the Snip~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~---- Snip ----"Leave
me alone." Amber whispered. She suddenly swung around throwing Jack's
arm off her. "Get out of my head!" She screamed hysterically. "I
may be gone for now, but there's no way you can get rid of me
completely." Jack said, watching her storm off into the mist that she
appeared from before. "Stay strong...." Jack said
quietly. Moments later, he opened his eyes, and
got up off the cold metal floor slowly, he rubbed his neck, feeling the
marks Amber had left when she tried to strangle him. "Stay
strong..." he said again, over Amber's normal frequency, hoping it
would get past the darkness that had come forward since she had been on
New Ibiza.---- End Snip ----Amber growled and lunged at the
bars of her cell as a guard walked past. In her mind an inner battle
was going on, but out here, all appearances showed that it had been
lost.Amber sat in the mist, silently cursing everything she
knew. The place was still dark and miserable, but there were a few
bushes in flower and some trees had leaves. "Hymenopterra
are the only people who have made me feel welcome." John was having a
nap at the time of the nano surge, and therefore was little surprised
to find himself suddenly lying on a cold, uninviting, worryingly
monochrome landscape. Not to far from him, Amber stood, and in
situations like this, there was only one thing a guy could do. He took
out a dog end and greeted her. "Who are you? What are you doing in
my head. The last guy was bad enough..." Amber spat, not even looking
at John. John was not unused to being insulted so blankly, so carried
on. "Hows it going? I was hoping id get a chance to
speak to you" he said, between a drag of tobacco. He'd kicked the habit
for a while, but ever since his marriage to the the women in front of
him started to go awry, he found himself reaching to the pouch more and
more regularly. "I wanted to talk to you about us" Amber growled. "I
don't know you." She said. "I don't remember anything...." ripples came
over the landscape and John knew what Amber had remembered. John
nodded, he knew. "Hey look, All that time ago when we
got horribly drunk and ended up in wedlock, i vaguely recall one thing,
and that is i married you, not some weird piece of crap with made in
Taiwan printed on it in your head, so all I'm saying is, weird thing or
not, the person i loved... still love is standing in front of me as we
speak... by the way, i got a surprise for you when we leave here" he
smiled deeply. "I shall love you for the
rest of my life if it has anything to do with me not spending the rest
of my life on Deck 13." Amber said sarcastically. She looked at John
and a flicker of something registered on her face. "JMC Issue Beer is
not nice." She remembered the night of love virus fueled passion and
marriage. John smiled and nodded. "Yeah, it's pretty
rank." he threw the dog end on the floor and grounded it, its ash was
barely noticeable among the uniform black of the environment. "You
know... i may not be a good husband, and probably no better a man, but
i was told once that to be truly good person, you have to be there for
your friends when needed, and right now, i think you need me" he looked
Amber dead in the eye as he said this. "I
don't need anyone!" She spat at John. John's nanos were joining forces
with Amber's and attacking the invading evil substance. "I only need
the Hive! This god damned ship means nothing to me!" She said hissing
in Hymenopterran. John looked around the environment, it reminded him
or his own little Id, which was similar, but with more colour. "Now
we both know THAT'S not true. Hive minds have an advantage, agreed, but
there's no individualism, no identifier, int he hive, your no different
to the drones that we wipe of our windshields, but back home, on the
Dwarf, you are a respected individual, with responsibility and friends." "Aye, respected so much they lock me in the Brig." Amber countered. "Its
because they respect you they lock you up" This puzzled John as well.
"They don't want you to go any lower, they cant bare to see you dig any
deeper into the hole you seem to find comforting. They do it because
they care." "Do you care?" Amber said with a distinct edge of the old Amber to her voice.<To Be Continued>
