John wandered towards them. He'd never been this close to a hymie without needing to change his underwear."They appear to be friendly enough!" he said, whilst tapping one on the back."Well, enough talking, shouldn't we be taking this thing out?" Amber started, regaining her usual self.

"No need" said Idwal" The group looked questioningly at him. "Look around you" said Idwal gesturing towards the walls and ceiling of the tunnel they were in. Seeing their still puzzled faces he went on " Look at the structure dudes! This is all created from some layering process. My guess is these bugs built it much the way a wasp would fabricate a nest on a terran planet. Layer by layer. But see over there and there and there. Fault lines! The bugs haven't been around to repair the place since being attacked." The group still seemed a little puzzled. Idwal took a deep breath, counted to ten and said "Come on! Fault lines, big shock wave producing cannon?"
Keat's face lit up "They fire the cannon and it's goodbye to all this!"
"Give that man a banana!" laughed Idwal "Right on! Any intense vibration will see this whole place collapse!"
"So" said Amber " We don't need to blow the cannon?"
"Nope it will do it all by its little self" said Keats
"Of course" added Idwal
"Yes?" asked three people
"If the cannon does fire we need to be a long way from it or else we get buried under god knows how many tons on this stuff thats above us."
"Okay guys!" said Amber "get your asses into gear we're out of here pdq!"
The group gathered themselves together and began to move off. As they did so the bugs scuttled after them.
"Looks like we got new friends!" remarked Jack
"Yeah, well any move out of the ordinary and their ass is grass!" replied a terse Keats. As the group began to march purposefully along the huge tunnel which no began a slow upwards incline.
