The Medibay Calms Down
Who: Keto, Wildflower, Jasmine, Tree
Where: Medibay
When: A while after the chaos
=============================
Wildflower straightened up and stretched, her back cracking rather
alarmingly. It had been almost a solid eleven hours of work since
the hordes of patients started coming in, and all the medibay staff
had been busy all the time. Now, as the chaos gradually began to
subside, Jasmine had run off to go and replenish the extremely over-
taxed supplies of the medibay, while the Tree was trying to fix some
of the worst damage left over from the clone attacks.
Keto was still moving from patient to patient, going back to those
who had only had the briefest of treatments. His smile was beginning
to look a little strained, but was still there. It was such an
unusual expression that it unnerved Wildflower a bit - but then,
these weren't exactly ordinary circumstances. It seemed that even
Keto could be nice when patients required it.
"Miss Wildflower," called over Keto as he turned away from yet
another grateful patient, who was now bandaged almost entirely from
head to foot, "I'm just going to get some more sterilising fluid,
I'll be back shortly. When I get back, you're free to go off duty.
You look like you could use the rest."
"...don't you need to rest too?" asked Wildflower after a pause,
reluctant to deny that she was in dire need of recuperation. To her
vague relief, Keto shrugged and flashed another quirky smile.
"I'll be fine for another few hours," he said, heading for the
door, "I'll be back shortly. If you need any help in the meantime, I
think the Tree should be able to handle it. It doesn't seem to
suffer from fatigue."
*Rustle!* confirmed the Tree, apparently as bouncy and lively as
ever. Suddenly Wildflower felt very old.
"That'd be great," she admitted with a sigh. Keto nodded, grinned,
and headed out of the door. Wildflower leaned against a nearby
medibunk and closed her eyes, trying to relax.
"Myu obhay?" asked the muffled voice of the bandaged man.
"Absolutely fine," replied Wildflower through gritted teeth. She
was momentarily surprised to realise that at this instant, she just
wanted all the patients to vanish. She didn't really care whether
they were healed or not - they should just go.
After a moment, the thought stopped shocking her. After all, she
decided, the nastiness in the medibay had to balance out SOMEwhere!
====================
OOC: Just a quick post, since it's tired and I'm late. If anybody
wants to run into Wildflower in the medibay (or out of the medibay,
when she's off duty in an hour or so), feel free!
