> to walk back to where Kyla was with Zak in tow.

Kyla was waiting patiently for Tara to come back, a little afraid to
wander off on her own. She saw Tara with someone else.
"Hi," said the newcomer. "I'm Zak."
"I'm Kyla." Kyla moved to shake his hand, saw the film of grease
covering it, and took her hand back, turning it into a kind of wave.
Zak grinned, used to this kind of reaction.
"Well," said Tara. "Introductions are over. Zak, I'd better get you
checked out, and then we'd better..." She stopped there, unsure what
might come next.
"Find other survivors?" Kyla suggested.
"What?" said Zak, who didn't know the story. Tara recapped events
for him as they moved through the ship.
