Final Goodbyes

Zack Richards was polishing a set of mugs near the counter. It had been almost
a fortnight since Stewie McKenzie left the Blue Dwarf. Still he had the fond memories.
Just as he finished washing them, a man in a navy blue jacket, wearing a tartan scarf
came in through the door.
"Ah! Barkeep! A word please."
"What is it?" asked Zack, looking up at .... STEWIE??!!.
"Nice to see you Zack."
As Stewie and Zack sat at a table, Stewie informed him that he is letting Blue Dwarf
take on a McKenzies and La Regal de McKenzies franchise.
"That's excellent news!" Zack remarked.
"Mike McKenzie will own it and you will be Manager!"
Zack couldn't believe his ears.
"Does the Captain know?"
"I have sent him a message in two days time. In the meantime, I hope everything
goes well!"
"Where are you going?"
"Me? Oh wandering. Perhaps live on Earth."
They shook hands and Stewie entered an elevator Zack had never seen before. Zack
shrugged his shoulders and turned around. There was a wheezing and groaning noise.
By the time Zack turned around again, the elevator had vanished ...WHO: Zack Cubie Richards, Mike McKenzieWHERE:London, EnglandWHEN: 19th of August, 2131
The old man stepped out onto his balcony at his luxurious penthouse suite, opposite Buckingham
Palace. He smelled the air - dirty, grotty, pulloted - just the way he liked it.
"Cubie dear," croaked the old man, "Are you up yet?"
A young, attractive woman came out onto the balcony as well. It was Cubie Richards and the
sixty year odd man was Zack Richards
"Who would know that I would retire 'ere, eh Cubie?"
"Back on the Blue Dwarf, you said you'd hate to be here!"
"Oh well. McKenzies did really well. Why waste the opportunity?"
Then, Zack decided to go for his morning stroll around London.
*****20 minutes later*****
Zack was strolling with his walking stick - due to the fact he had an accident with his leg
a long time ago - and bumped into a middle aged man running from a corner and nearly
knocked Zack right over.
"Are you alright, old chum?"
"Oh impudence! Just who do you think you are??"
"Sorry sir. My wife is about to have a baby."
Zack looked up and saw the man - instant recollections sprung into his head.
"Mi... Michael McKenzie?"
"Yes, that's me. USSS Air Cheif Marshall Mike McKenzie. And you are ...?"
"Don't you recognise me? Sir?"
"Zack Richards!"
"Yes old boy! Come on, we mustn't dilly dally. I'll come with you to the hospital."
"Mrs. McKenzie, you have a beautiful baby boy."
Zack smiled as Mike and his wife looked at the new born.
"What are you going to call him?" asked the Nurse.
Mike looked at his wife and then at Zack.
"Stuart James McKenzie."Just my last final post. Once again, thank you to everyone who was involved in
Blue Dwarf during my time. Pop along to visit Chameleon 9 if you want. Stuart James
McKenzie is on board Chameleon 9 (even though it is set in 2301).
