Love Hurts - By Andy Bowers, Andy Longman and Sean Mayer
Rpg:
Who: Chrysler, Donover
Where: Near Wildflower's quarters
When: When Donover just started a fight
In a moment of rage he did something that was more like Harris than
himself, he chased away Jay, kicked the legs from under him and then
began to pound that smirk off of his face.
It took a few seconds for Jay to realise what was going on, all of
a sudden he had been laid out on the floor and a deranged security
officer was pounding the hell out of him,
"What the HELL are you doing?!" Jay exclaimed, trying to get the
better of Donover.
"I could ask you the same question fly-boy!" shouted Donover as a
left hook failed to connect and Jay managed to roll out from under
him. Donover leapt to his feet, and lunged at Jay again. who darted
to one side, helping Donover smash his fist into the nearest
bulkhead,
"Stealing my girl, Chrysler, that's low..."
"Sorry Donover!" Jay replied, jabbing Donover's stomach with his
right hand and beating him in the chin with his left "But there ain't
exactly a label on her!" Donover hit back at Chrysler with a
surprising force, knocking Jay off his feet.
"I finally pluck up the guts to ask her out again, and you come
marching in, stealing her away from me, the one girl I EVER thought
was interested in me!" Jay rolled his eyes, and then got punched in
the face.
"Is that what this about?!" he said lifting his leg and throwing
Donover off him, against the door to Keto's quarters, setting of
his 'Why do birds suddenly appear' doorbell chime.
"Jeez man, If you'd only asked I could set you up on a blind date
with my sister!"
"A BLIND DATE!" Donover yelled and then he nutted Jay. "I'm not
some charity case!"
Donover grabbed Jay by the arm and swung him around into the
bulkhead.
"I bought her a bloody rose, it cost me everything I had manage to
save while on this damn rust bucket! What the hell did you buy her?!"
Donover didn't wait for an answer and kneed Chrysler in the stomach
and then smashed his elbow into the back of his head when he doubled
over.
The fight continued for another minute or so, the result was black
eyes, a large collection of bruises, a number of dents in the
bulkheads and a few broken bones on both sides. The ended up outside
of Wildflower's quarters and then the door opened.
Wildflower stood outside her quarters, a towel wrapped around her
body and her hair tied up by a smaller towel. She was drippign wet,
and wore a slightly confused look on her face. Two bodies lying on
the grounds in front her quarters, Donover's and Chrysler's.
She bent down, and held Chrysler's head in her hands, looking at a
cut he had above his eye.
"What the hell happened here?" she asked, concerned for Chrysler.
Without waiting for an answer, she rushed into her quarters and then
back out again, carrying a small medi-kit. Then she picked out some
blue gauze, and wrapped it around Chrysler's head, covering the
gash.
Over the next five minutes, Wildlfower began tending to both
Chrysler's and Donover's minor wounds. Eventually, she closed the
case, and looked down at the worn out men, resting against the wall
opposite her door.
"We're going to have to get you two to the medibay," she
sighed. "I can't fix those broken bones here."
Wildlfower entered the medibay after minutes and minutes of
heaving, pushing and carrying, with the two battered men. Keto
looked up from his meal of chinese stir fry and frowned.
He was on the late shift that evening, Coffey and the rest of them
were out asleep or in parrots or something.
"What have you done now girl?" he asked, unhappily.
"I've not done anything, Keets. For some reason the two of them
were lying, bruised and battered outside my door. I brought them
here," she said, placing them on seprarate beds.
They both sat up and rubbed their various appendages, whilst Keto
sighed loudly and picked up some medical supplies. He began
plastering Jay's arm as Donover spoke.
"Sorry Jenny. It was my fault. I went at Jay, I thougth you and
I, well, you know..."
Wildflower sighed. She'd never been fought over before by two men,
and it did give her ego a real boost, but she'd never wanted to see
either of them hurt.
"Robert, I think you're a great guy, I really do. But I just don't
see you in the same light as I do Jay."
Donover dropped his head slightly, his heart feeling crushed
"Robert, I want us to be friends. It's not you. Try to believe me
despite the fact that it's a cliched line."
Donover nodded grimly, and jumped off the bed.
"Whatever, Jenny. I'll see you around," he said, head held high as
he left the medibay limping. and wishing he'd not jumped off the bed
onto his broken leg.
Wildlfower sighed, and rubbed her head. She turned to Chrysler.
"Look, Jenn, I'm really sorry about what happened. I should never
have fought back," said Jay sadly.
Wildlfower smiled and walked over to Chrysler. "Jay, it's okay,"
she said, kissing his bruised forehead lightly.
"I'm honoured that you'd fight over me," she said smiling. "But if
you ever do anything like that again, I'll kill you."
As they laughed, Keto took another moutful of stir fry and
grumbled,
"This isn't a mining ship, its the smegging Love Boat."
<Jay or Donover, maybe Keto, whoever wishes to continue, go ahead>
