A shadowy discussion
> "We'll I should hope not." Turning to Cerebrum, "Well, if you're

"Well, it's not exactly repairs I need," Cerebrum said, while they
walked out of the bar, "I need to have some equipment constructed.
I've got the plans, but the equipment itself is, how shall we say,
still undergoing approval for legal use."
"Approval, by who? The Psychiatric Equipment Evaluation Leauge?"
asked Dirk.
"No, actually it's the Bureau for the Declasification of Restricted
Military and Espionage Devices. But I'm sure that the things I want
built will be autorised for civilian use shortly, so there will be no
problems at all. A lot of the mind warfare devices they've
constructed in recent years can easily be revamped for psychiatric
use. Oh yes, don't ask me how I got the plans."
"So, what exactly is it you want me to build?"
Cerebrum looked around at the crowds. "This place is too public,
let's discuss this in the lift, shall we? No sense in taking foolish
risks, we wouldn't want somebody to mug us for the plans, right?" Or
some interfering federal agent to arrest us, Cerebrum thought as they
walked towards the lift.
A minute later, in the lift
Once Cerebrum had satisfied himself that nobody was listening in on
their conversation and activated a white noise generator to block out
any bugs that might be placed on the wall, or people trying to listen
in from the outside, he removed several disks from his pocket. "These
disks have the plans on them. What I need built is a Mark 4 Miniature
Tesla Generator, ignore the bit where it says restricted use only, a
Dravanian Military Grade Mind Scanner, a Long-Range Hypno Converter
and a Psi-Probe type seven. There some other plans on the disks, but
I need these things built first, I need them the most. So, will you
do it? I can pay you, or help you out with any problems you may be
having."
