Phantom of the Opera - A Stewie McKenzie production

Phantom of the Opera - A Stewie McKenzie production

Stewie McKenzie, most BD crew, cast
The Jon Pertwee Memorial Hall
8.29PM 5th of May, 2101
It was the night to end all nights. Stewie was groomed immaculately (thanks to
Christine McKenzie's fine hairdressing). All the crowd muttered quietly as the
overture was playing. Zack Richards had ushered Captain White Wolf to his
seat in the Imperial box. In a brief talk with Harris (when he wasn't being
a pyscopathic killing machine), Stewie managed to get 3 security guards for
the hall. Owen Numan was in the hall's canteen, preparing interval
refreshments. Elisabeth Padbury provided chocolate, and ate most of it. Phil
Febuggure managed to quickly provide seat and stage lighting in the form
of ten, young science officers. Finally, the lights dimmed and Stewie McKenzie
walked upon the stage. Operating the holo-speaker (a hologrammatic microphone)
he spoke clearly and distinctly to the crowd.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, android and scutters. Over the
past few months, I, Stuart McKenzie, have involved myself in several things.
But none of them has satisfied me more than directing a famous 20th century musical.
More importantly I thank the cast for their volunteering, the back
stage crew, the costume maker, the technical people and everyone who made this
musical possible. Now, sit back, relax and enjoy The Phantom of the Opera ..."
The audience applauded as the curtain rose. A holographic sign appeared in
the blackness stating "Prologue", then replaced with "Paris Opera House, 1911".
It is the auction scene, where the auctioneer, played by Harry Smith-Weston,
is taking bids for items from the aforementioned Opera house. Harry then displays
a large chandelier that was supposedly connected with the Phantom of the Opera.
Once again, holographics display a large vortex - partially taken from aDr. Who title sequence - and the auction attenders disappear with
a puff of smoke ...
The next scene has a holographic caption of "Rehearsals, Hannibal 30
years earlier". Jay Chrysler as Monsieur Lefèvre, is showing Joe Schweeble
and Chris Zodar as the new managers, around the stage.

"This .. this stage!" remarked Jay, in a William Hartnell style voice,
"Magnificent hmmm? Greatest in all Paris!"
"Yes," replied Joe, "Quite exquisite,"
"Who's the bird?" Chris asked, jokingly, indicating towards Tara Cleavage.
"That 'bird', young man, is the great Carlotta! Greatest voice eh? Hmmm?"
Tara Cleavage was singing a rather high note. This told Zack Richards, who intended
to help out, with Harry to push down the backdrop. Unfortunately Zack was
partially seen. Tara bruised her elbow in the incident, and struggled to gurgle
"It's The Phantom of the Opera!"
but turned out to be:
"It's the Fahn...tom .. ovde ... Opraaaaaa!!!"
Still, the audience gasped.
"Are you okay?"
Jay rushed over, completely without his accent. Tara, however, continued acting.
"Just about Monseuir! But I'm afraid," she scowled, "that I'm never singing again!"
and she stormed off. There was a blackout and the following scene came about.
It is Madame Giry's lounge. Christine, as Madame, was reading an old fashioned book,
when Cubie raced in.
"Mother! Miss Carlotta is refu..."
"My dear child," Christine said, closing her book, "I already know! I had in mind
my dearest, if you know someone who could, perhaps, take her place. I mean
it would be an Opera trajedy without a leading lady now!"
"Well, there is my friend Christine..."
The next scene Alota Viagra, as Christine, triumphs at the Opera. Dr. Keto as
Raoul, recognizes Christine as a childhood friend. The Doctor stood up and
walked backstage, and greeted the star.
"Hello Christine!"
Alota turned around and saw Dr. Keto smiling.
"Raoul! It must of been 10 ... 20 years!"
"Well I make up for it? Dinner?"
"I'm afriad my teacher wouldn't allow it ..."
"Ah! The 'Angel of Music' ..."
"Yes. But thanks Dr. K .. I mean Raoul."
Alota cursed to herself while Keto left. As this happens another puff of smoke
appears and the Phantom of the Opera, a.k.a. Dr. Shakespeare steps out.
"Com'eth fair lady, for'eth I will lead you into my labrynth'th ..."
"Why? WHY?"
"Your lessons must'eh be continued ever more ... COM'ETH!"
Alota stepped cautiously with the Phantom as the stage blacked out.
Shakespeare shows Alota his underground lair where she sees a very scary picture
of herself in a wedding gown in the mirror. She faints, only to be awakened several hours later by the Phantom's music on the organ. They start to sing ...
(Alota)
In sleep
he sang to me,
in dreams
he came . . .
that voice
which calls to me
and speaks
my name . . .
And do
I dream again?
For now
I find
the Phantom of the Opera
is there -
inside my mind . . .
(Shakespeare)
Sing once
again with me
our strange
duet . . .
My power
over you
grows stronger
yet . . .
And though
you turn from me,
to glance
behind,
the Phantom of the Opera
is there -
inside your mind . . .
(Alota)
Those who
have seen your face
draw back
in fear . . .
I am
the mask you wear . . .
(Shakespeare)
It's me
they hear . . .
(Both)
Your/my spirit
and your/my voice,
in one
combined:
the Phantom of the Opera
is there
inside your/my mind . . .
Then the chorus appeared from behind.
(Chorus)
He's there,
the Phantom of the Opera . . .
Beware
the Phantom of the Opera . . .
(Shakespeare)
In all
your fantasies,
you always
knew
that man
and mystery . . .
(Alota)
were both
in you . . .
(Both)
And in
this labyrinth,
where night
is blind,
the Phantom of the Opera
is there/here
inside your/my mind . . .
(Shakespeare, spoken)
Sing, my Angel of Music!
(Alota)
He's there,
the Phantom of the Opera . . .
(Shakespeare, spoken)
Sing....
my Angel of music ...
Sing....
Sing my angel of music - sing for meeeee!!!
After the song, Christine creeps up behind Shakespeare and rips off his mask.
Shakespeare's grotesque make-up stuns all as he shows it. Then he ushers the girl
back up to the surface ... The next scene shows Joe Schweeble whistling into his office to see his co-manager,
Dr. Keto, Christine McKenzie and Tara Cleavage. Christine steps forward.
"Monseuir! This message! It's from the Phantom!"
Audience gasp.
"Indeed ..." Joe snatches the note and reads it out aloud.
"You must give Christine Daae the main role - or it's your ass in the fire -
well! I won't be taking threats from Phantoms! Eh co-manager?"
"Er ..." stuttered Chris, "yes! Yes!"
"So this Phantom can bugger off!"
Audience laughs.
The next scene lights up with holo-caption -"Il Muto". Tara is in the lead whilst
Alota is in the secondary role in the aforementioned stage play. Tara looks smug at
Alota as she sings a rather middle-toned note. Then disaster strikes. The stage hand
aka Haven Exodus drops his coffee on the floor. Whilst picking it up, a rope
coils lovingly round his neck and chokes him. Tara is about to sing when ... she
can't! Her voice is stolen! The play is ruined!
As chaos emerges, Keto and Alota escape through a convenient stair case, leading
up to the Opera House's roof. There, all alone, Keto whispers ...
"I love you, my darling."
"I too, my dear Raoul.."
and they snog! Snog to kingdom come! Although unseen, Shakespeare watches them and
is furious and sends the chandileir - the same one in the auction - to the ground.
This then becomes the end of Act I, with a thunderous applause.
The audience move out for refreshments, courtesy of Parrots Bar 2001. Backstage,
Stewie races up to the cast members and congratulates them on their tremendous efforts.
After fifteen minutes the second act opens. It is a grand Masquerade Ball,
held specially in the Opera House. After all, no one had heard from the Phantom
in six months, as someone mentions. Keto and Alota had secretly engaged,
the only clue being the engagement ring that is attached to a chain around
her neck.
Then an old geezer, disguised as "Red Death" walks up t Joe and Chris.
"Here's the musical score. Don't disappoint me again .."
It was the Phantom.
The Monseuirs disagree over Don Juan Triumphant.
"Look at ze name!"
"Look at ze content!"
"Good Lord!" says Chris, "He wants zat girl in her knickers! No, no, no!
this is far too disturbing!"
"However," said Joe, "we could cut zat out ..."
"Yes ... we could use her as bait!"
"To catch ze Phantom!"
And the both do evil laughter, which ends with Chris slipping,
"Ouch my nose!"
The next scene starts with those awful smoke machines. Of course there is those
smart arses in the crowd who do overeggsaturated coughing. Alota is at her
father's grave, where Shakespeare appears beckoning her to come with him. Keto arrives
in time to usher her away from the Phantom.
The next scene is at the opera house with the holocaption: "Don Juan
Triumphant". The whole place is covered with police - played convincingly by
Harry Smith-Weston, Christine McKenzie, Tara Cleavage and Zack Richards.
Back stage is Jay Chrysler, in young make-up, as Piangi - the lead singer.
Suddenley Shakespeare enters.
"Can I 'elp you?" asked Jay
"I will replac'eth you, Monseuir!"
"Alright. You overpowered me!"
Then during the performance Shakespeare encounters Alota.
"..Phantom..." she stutters.
Before anything else, he takes her down the stage into his labrynth. Dr. Keto and the
managers follow him.
"Christine my love," says Shakespeare, "will you come with me?"
"No!"
"My angel?"
"No!"
"Pet darling!"
"For the last time no!"
"Very well, it is either you follow me or Raoul dies!"

Dramatic chords are conveniently played.
As Dr. Keto races in with the Managers, Joe asks,
"Where's the bird and the bastard?"
"I think I can answer that ..."
Dr. Keto points to the mask of the Phantom, laying on a big red cushion ...
The curtains drew and the crowd was wild. Captain White Wolf was clapping until
his paws were sore, even Harris clapped! The cast walked on stage and bowed.
Alota, Tara, Cubie and Christine received flowers and Stewie was applauded.
"Thanks everyone! You've been terrific!" he cried as his speech was drowned
by the sound of enjoyment.[It's over hooray! This has taken me two days to write! It makes it even
