Artemis downed a shot and broken the glass whilst slamming it back down, causing his robotic hand to leak hydraulic fluid. "Fuck" Artemis shouted. "I didn't know Frank that well, but every morning he would greet me with a smile while walking to the ISD lab. Even when things weren't going well he was always happy. This galaxy is lesser for his death...." Plisken slurred. "I didn't know Frank dude at all, but he sounds like one of the coolest guys ever...." Jazz commented. The Missus chimed on, commenting in droidspeak. "Yeah, that too!" Artemis said, standing up. "And you know vuht? I'm proposing a toast to Science Technitian First Class Frank William Cadbury!" Artemis held out his glass. "To Frank!" The group of drunk Dwarfers chimed in. For the rest of the "party" the group reminisced about other lost friends, and old memories before going their separate ways hours later.

After a few drinks Jaxx and Evelina walked back to their quarters and put on some comfortable clothing. They were both tired after having a fun time at the Ball. Jaxx slept on the lower bunk and Evelina slept on the top bunk. Jaxx said, “Hey Eve babe.” Evelina replied, “Yes Jaxx?” Jaxx said, “I had fun tonight.” Evelina replied, “Me too Jaxx. I have been to a lot of parties like this and this is the first time I actually enjoyed myself.” Jaxx said, “Thanks for going with me Eve babe. You’re the best.” Evelina replied, “Aww your so sweet. Good night Jaxx.” Jaxx replied, “Goodnight Eve babe.”

The Next Day

Evelina woke up Jaxx to hear Holly’s message. Jaxx groggily woke up and said, “I wonder like what we did this time dude.” Evelina replied, “No idea but I think we are going to another dangerous mission. After Jaxx and Evelina got dressed.

Jay approached Artemis as the group dissipated. "Doc, what's your plan?" He asked. "Okay, by entering the systems using the AR system we can reverse the damage. However, without a sufficient power source we won't get far. That being said, I propose modifying my fusion core. With the modifications it will be able to interface with us and supercharge our a actions in the AR world, which if used correctly should work to clear the contagion. In the meantime it can also add additional processing power to Holly to stall the degradation, but not for long" Jay remembered the name fusion core from the past, but he couldn't put his finger on it. It didn't matter anyway, if Artemis was right it would help them, immensely. "Okay Doc, make any modifications you need and set it up" "With haste Mr Chrysler!" As Alex passed by, Jay grabbed him by the arm, prompting Artemis to scurry away.
Artemis had hours of hard work ahead of him, at least The Missus could help in the research. Artemis was just happy he was putting the damn fusion core to use after everything he went through to steal it.....

As the volunteered crew-members arrived at the VR machines they mentally prepared themselves for their dangerous mission as they waited for Artemis to finish his preparations. Jaxx and Evelina looked around at the other volunteers and smiled as they were about to enter the VR machine. Artemis said, “Now I tried to stabilize this machine as much as I could but it is only a patch job for now so be prepared. After the volunteers entered the VR machines they tried to relax as they hoods lowered. After Artemis said, “I am hoping to get you into the core but there is a chance you may end up in a random location or program.” Jaxx just gave Artemis a thumbs up and let the hood come down again. Once the crew was ready, Artemis gave the go had and the crew began entering the VR.

As the crew continued on a bright light flashed before there eyes and blinded them for a short time. As everyone’s eyes adjusted to the light they noticed they were in a forest. As they looked around they saw they were wearing medieval fantasy clothing and armor. Jaxx looked at himself and realized he was dressed as a Florist (humble clothes and an apron) and he was armed only with a watering can. Jaxx looked at himself and then at Evelina who was dressed as an anime Mage holding a magical staff. Jaxx said, “Dude this is totally messed up. Why is Eve babe looking hot to trot and I am a total garden gnome?” Evelina giggled as she looked at Jaxx and said, “You look cute.” Jaxx sighed, “Your just saying that Eve babe. I totally saw you laughing.” Evelina bit her lip to keep from bursting out in tears as she shook her head. Jaxx sighed again as he said, “That’s cold Eve babe.” Evelina gave Jaxx a hug as she said, “I’m Sorry Jaxx. Maybe you can tend my garden when we get back to the Dwarf.” Then Evelina burst out in laughter as she held Jaxx close. Jaxx held Evelina as he began to giggle with her. Once they calmed down Evelina noticed that everyone was wearing something that didn’t match their skills. The non-fighters were dressed like fighters and the fighters were dressed like non-fighters.

Shortly after a little old man in red and gold robes appeared from behind a tree. The short old man said, “Greetings young Dungeon Raiders I am Dungeon Master and I will be your guide. As Dungeon Raiders you have been randomly equipped with a class, skills and one special weapon. Dungeon Master looked at Evelina and smiled as he said, “You my dear have been selected as a mage of level 1. In your spell bag you will find a book of spells you may cast from, but be wary if you mispronounce the words it will alter the spell. Your staff is needed to channel your magic spells so be sure not to loose it. Then the Dungeon Master looked at Jaxx and snickered a little as he said, “I see you have been selected to be the Florist. You now possess a magical watering can that can pour infinite amounts of water, which can also make plants grow faster and you can arrange magnificent flower arrangements.” Evelina continued to snicker with her hands over he mouth to muffle the sounds. Jaxx looked at Evelina with a disappointed look as he said, “Really Eve babe?” Evelina managed to catch her breath as she said, “I’m sorry I can’t help it, but I promise I will make it up to you.” Jaxx sighed as he replied, “Ok fine Eve babe.”

After the Dungeon Master informed the other crewmembers of their class, skills and special weapon he then began to explain how the health, mana and experience worked for the players. Then he releases some pop goblins after the crew to fight. Evelina tries a stun spell, which makes her top pop open which in turn stuns the pop goblin and Jaxx. Then Evelina screams as she covers up with one hand and whacks the pop goblin with her staff, which causes it to digitize and disappear. Meanwhile Jaxx regained his composure as he was pouring water on the pop goblins head and saying, “It like has no effect on them dude.” The goblin kicked Jaxx's foot and manages to knock of a hit point so in turn Jaxx kicks the pop goblin in the daddy bags, which causes it to digitize and disappear.
