Living On The Edge

After landing Jaxx and Evelina got up to help move Dr. Jade but were stopped by Cass. Cass said, “You two relax for now I have it covered.” Then as the hatch opened the crew was greeted by Cass’s scary robots. The robots quickly followed Cass’s orders on moving the wounded Dr. Jade to the medbay.

Two MED’s met the group as they disembarked from the shuttle; the three metre high combat droids looming darkly around them as they walked down the access ramp, pushing Jade ahead of them on the grav-sled that Jamie had found
The doctor was responding well to her treatment, but as usual the nanites were taking their toll on their host and Jade was beginning to show signs of needing additional remedial care; so on Cassandra’s advice, they were taking her down to the medibay while the nanites finished their work

As everyone was leaving the hanger they saw a slightly disheveled Alex having words with Cass.

“Alright” Alex grunted, pushing himself away from the wall he was leaning against as the group emerged out onto the Promenade some ten minutes later “How was the fishing?”
Jamie favoured him with a sidelong glance as they pushed Jade past him
“Shit” he said bluntly “You missed loads of fun”
“Huh” Alex grumped, digging his hands into his overall pockets as he watched their retreating backs.

“I’ll catch you up” Cass murmured to Katrina, tapping away at her handheld as she peeled off, back towards Alex, one of her MED’s doubling back to follow her
“Orrite” Solvay mumbled around the cig he was lighting as she approached
Cass waited while he clinked his lighter closed and blew out a cloud of smoke
“You’re really smegging lucky to be alive” she hissed “If you had taken anything worthwhile, the machines in my room would have gutted you”

“I...” Alex croaked, his mouth suddenly dry, but he stopped and shook his head; he could see that trying to explain his actions was pointless
“I trusted you” Cass continued “To say that I’m disappointed is an understatement”
She turned to leave, the MED thumping heavily aside, out of her way
“Hey...” Alex tried

“Your privileges have been revoked” she glared back at him, her green eyes flashing angrily “Access to locations and equipment has been restricted; until, that is, you can adequately demonstrate that you’re not an untrustworthy, alcoholic dick”
“Oh, smeg you” Alex growled as she strode away

Jaxx just shook his head at Alex as he and Evelina walked by. After leaving the Hanger Jaxx asked, “Hey Eve babe, are you like hurt and stuff? If so I could walk with ya to see Doc Phi?” Evelina shook her head and said, “I’m ok Jaxx. I just hope Dr. Black is going to be alright.” Jaxx smiled at Evelina and said, “I’m sure she will totally get over it since she got those nano things and stuff. That Mrs. Jones is like a super nerd with that stuff. She is like my total opposite.” Evelina looked at Jaxx sternly and said, “Jaxx why do you put yourself down so much?” Jaxx paused in thought for a moment then answered, “I am like sorry you see it that way Eve babe. I know I have limitations now Eve babe and I can’t say I like them much either, but I totally still have to accept them if I am gonna radically improve myself.”

Evelina said, “So you’re saying those mean things to yourself to help you overcome them?” Jaxx smiled and said, “Well yeah Eve babe. That’s part of the reason I have been doing my wicked Calamar training. I need to be useful to the others, I need to atone for my past deeds and I need to get stronger to protect you.” Evelina smiled as she said, “Ok if it is important to you I won’t stop you but don’t over do ok?” Jaxx smiled and said, “Ok you win again Eve babe. I tell ya what, I’ll do what ever ya want tonight.” Evelina smiled gleefully at Jaxx and said, “Really??? My choice???? You promise to do what ever I want?” Jaxx rubbed his neck nervously as he said, “Your not gonna like do something bad to me are you?” Evelina rubbed her hands fiendishly as her happy smile became more of the naughty sort.

After taking turns cleaning up, Evelina led Jaxx around to pick up her favorite fast food and drinks. Back at the sleeping quarters Jaxx and Evelina shared, they were sitting on the floor surrounded by a good variety of take out food and junk food. Jaxx looked at the food and then at Evelina and asked, “What are we doing in here with all this food?” Evelina smiled as she was messing with the remote control and said, “Well Jaxx we are gonna need all that food cause we are gonna be alone and up all night.” Jaxx got nervous and began to notice the black silky pajamas Evelina was wearing that showed off her figure very well. His heart was beating nervously faster as his hands began to tremble.

Jaxx’s mind began to wander as he imagined Evelina turning around to seduce him in a very provocative manner. She slowly lowered to her hands and knees and crawled like a cat toward Jaxx till she was sitting on his lap and licking her lips as she slowly began unbuttoning her top to reveal her cleavage. Jaxx felt like he was going to have a heart attack, as he was unable to move and could close his eyes. Then Evelina said, “You know what would really make me happy?” Jaxx muttered, “What?” Evelina gave Jaxx a devilish smile and said, “I you stayed awake and watched all my favorite shows with me.” Jaxx snapped out of his dream and said, “Huh?

Evelina was standing by the large screen tv as she said again, “I want you to stay up and watch my favorite shows with me while we vege out. Why? What did you think I said?” Jaxx paused like a deer starring into very bright headlights for a minute before relaxing and saying, “What’s a TV show?” Evelina giggled and said, “You are way to sheltered Jaxx and we are going to fix that tonight with twenty hours of mind numbing entertainment.” Jaxx was unsure but gave in to Evelina’s request as they spent the night eating and watching Evelina’s favorite shows.
