Jaxx finally spoke up and said, “Well I guess we can travel together till we find more people or more answers.” Then Jaxx saw the back wound on Candy and asked, “Are you going to be ok with that wound? Candy responded, “Yes my nanos can fix the damage but it may be a while.” Davie spoke up and said, “Well I guess we are walking from here.” Cassie sat on Jaxx’s shoulder and held on as she stared blissfully at Jaxx. The four slowly made their way to where Cassie and Candy lost their shipmates.

The four travelers continued walking till they came to the remains of Nathan and Efof. Sure enough, a sliced up balding Nathan lay dead next to his broken wheel chair. Efof looked like a severed giant blue penis with four arms and two legs that was cut into 3 pieces. Davie said, “Wow you weren’t kidding. He really was a large penis.” Jaxx said, “I am sorry about your friends.” Cassie spoke up and said, “Thanks but they were real smeg heads anyway. Nathan was some Noble English pompous ass and Efof was a pervert trying to hump everything in site. The only reason Efof was on the ship was because of the Academy Exchange Program.” Jaxx asked, “What’s that?” Cassie said, “Well it is when one ship will temporarily swap a crew member with a different one to help educate others on culture and technology. It is a good idea in theory but it can be challenging sometimes.” Davie then reached down and grabbed two handfuls of dirt and sprinkled on the corpses as he said, “May you find peace in the next life.” Jaxx looked at Davie and asked, “What are you doing?” Davie said, “Just a small funeral. Lets keep moving.“ The 4 companions headed in the direction the samurai came from hoping to find more shipmates and answers.

Davie examined Candy’s back wound and noticed it was repairing nicely. Davie asked Candy, “So…you’re a pleasure droid? I take it you belong to someone?” Candy smiled as she answered, “Yes I am in service to Admiral Whitewolf. He is a good man and a great leader to his people. He saved many planets from the threat of the EmoRavens and helped start the JMC Alliance.” Davie pondered the thought then asked, “So exactly what was I on your ship?” Candy replied, “Well you were a Lt. and the last of the Special Force Squad called the Shadowborgs. You had many robotic implants and were in charge of ship security during my time.” Davie nodded as he like the other him and asked, “So what is the deal with Cassie and Jaxx?”

Candy looked at Davie and replied, “They are very close in my world.” Davie looked at the small Cassie and the huge Jaxx then back at Candy and asked, “Exactly how does that even work?” Candy smiled and responded, “I am afraid that oversteps my etiquette protocols.” Davie smiled then realized his glow stick had returned to normal. Davie smiled at the feeling of relief he so longed for. Davie shook his head as his vision began shifting and he saw infrared signatures in the distance. Davie spoke up and said, “Jaxx up ahead. “ Jaxx quickly responded, “I see sense them to. I estimate a whole lot of them at 1 click. I suggest we proceed with caution till we can tell who they are.” Davie agreed, “Good idea.” The four travelers walked up the rest of the hill and hid behind a few trees to see what lay up ahead.

Davie looked at Candy and asked, “Do your eyes come with a zoom lens?” Candy replied, “Why yes they do.” Davie said, “Good then scan ahead and tell us what you see.” Candy adjusted here eyes and stared at the location of the life forms and saw a large square of the samurai. Candy said, “I see 3 legions of the red armored samurai that attacked us in square formations. They seem to be facing 1 legion of men in blue uniforms armed with rifles and cannons from about 3000yards. It looks like they are about to go to war. If I am correct according to the banners this looks like the Satsuma Rebellion.” Davie asked, “The Satsama what?” Candy answered, “It was the last battle of the samurai and the beginning of a westernized Japanese army.” Jaxx asked, “Who cares. They can kill each other for all I care. Do you see any of our people?” Candy scanned again and responded, “No thank goodness. We seem to be the only ones.” Davie looked at Jaxx and asked, “Any bright ideas?” Jaxx said, “Let them kill each other. We need to find our crew and more supplies. I suggest we find a town or village.”

The 4 travelers began walking parallel to the battle but in the direction of the men in blue seem to come from.
