Chrono H5

Behind him Kara smirked. “I've programmed it so that nobody can see you, or hear you apart from me. Just one hologram to another.”
Justin followed Keto and waved his hand through his head. “It's like I'm a ghost.” He said.
Justin took a deep breath, even though he didn't need to. “I'm still not helping you sabotage this ship.”
Kara's finger pressed down on the button again. “Yes you are. Even if I have to control your body for you.”
Justin screamed in pain. Somehow he had to get a message to Amber.

Who: Justin
Where: Deck 57 Statis Pods area
When: After Dennis met Destiny

Justin wasn't sure if a Hologram should feel tired, but he certainly felt pain, so why not? He rubbed his forehead and yawned. Just as he lost concentration he felt the jolt of pain throughout his entire body as Kara jolted him back awake.

“Dammit!” He said as he turned to face her. She was standing over him with the holographic remote in her hand. It might as well have been an invisible chain going from her hand to his neck, it definitely felt like one.

He was sick of this, the entire day he'd had his head inside conduits, been poking around in wires and changing pipes, all on her command. Finally he'd had enough, he stood up.
“Why don't you at least tell me what I'm supposed to be doing, I'm working my fingers to the bone here!” He yelled at his mistress.
She was silent, and slightly shocked by his outburst. Her finger again pressed the button which gave him a jolt of pain. But he didn't care anymore.
“What am I trying to achieve?” He asked.
“Nothing.” Kara said.
“What?”
“Absolutely nothing of interest.” Kara said.
“Wha? You're smegging kidding?”

Kara grinned, and the stroked her JMC badge lovingly. “Very soon, Captain Amber will realise there's a JMC spy onboard. And I want her to know its you.” She said. “Did you know that everything a hologram touches leaves a very small digital energy signature. Like a fingerprint.”
She grinned, she wasn't touching anything – apart from the device that controlled him. “We're going to sabotage the ship tomorrow, and Amber will think it's you.”

Justin hung his head. “Rosette will investigate. She'll find me guilty one way or another, she really hates me.”
“Exactly!” The Scottish Hologram said in her playful but evil voice. “Now... I want you to wait here. I need to get some final orders from the JMC Board of Directors. They told me last night that the Blue Dwarf is spreading rumours that they are all Kinitawowi, imagine that?! See how desperate Amber has got!”

Justin grumbled as Kara walked off and left him alone.
“Oh, almost forgot!” She said turning around and turning a dial on her control. “I've turned you invisible again, nobody can see you or hear you.”

While Kara had that device, she could control if he was visible or invisible, hardlight or softlight. He really was a ghost, only real when she wanted him to be.

But now, this was his chance to escape from her.

He watched her leave the engineering room and then sprinted down the corridor the opposite way.

“Holly, Holly!” he said, shouting at a computer console. Holly didn't say anything, just stood there staring into space. Justin gritted his teeth and ran a little further, running straight through a couple who didn't notice him.

He found a thick door, and went to try the handle. His hands slipped straight through. “Smeg!”
Just then, the door opened and a woman dressed as a doctor walked out. He quickly slipped inside behind her.

Justin stood, awestruck at the sight in front of him. This was the stasis deck, an area designed to preserve the entire crew in times of emergency. Row after row of stasis booths lined the deck, and in front of one of them stood a confused looking man in a hospital gown.

Looking to his left, Justin noticed a pipe leaking some blue gas. The pipe was labelled Chrono H5, one of the many gasses used in the stasis process. As chief engineer, his first thought was to fix it, but remembered he couldn't touch anything. Instead he walked through the cloud of harmless gas, hoping to find somewhere he could hide.

He knew the man ahead wouldn't be able to see him so didn't bother saying anything, so was completely surprised when he started to speak.
“Is... is someone there?” The old man asked, squinting.

“Eh? Yeah, hello?” Justin said, and walked up to the man who still didn't seem to be able to see him.
“I'm here old man!” Justin said, waving his hand through his face. “How could you see me before?”

The engineer looked back towards the leaking gas, and stepped back through it so it billowed through his body. “Can you see me now?” The gas started to form around his shoulders, rather than blow straight through him.
“I can see...” Said the old man. “I can see a ghost!” He clasped his hands to his mouth. “Good gracious no!”
Justin rolled his eyes, “Stupid insane old fool.” Then he reached his hand far into the leaking pipe, allowing himself maximum exposure to the gas. If it made the old man see him, maybe he could help.

As the old man rubbed his eyes, Justin walked closer. His hand felt different, it felt stronger, more solid. He could feel the cold and damp air, and feel the vibration of energy coming from the booths.
But still it looked like Dennis couldn't see him.

Justin tried a different tactic. In the condensation of the stasis booth's glass, he started to write.
Dennis blinked and couldn't believe what he was seeing as letters formed right in front of him.
“Call Captain Amber. There's a JMC saboteur onboard.”
