Miracle cure for a missing arm

Who: Justin, Efof, Amber, Jay
Where: Red Dwarf, horticulture deck
When: After they were attacked by the Dolaroos

Justin put his hands to his mouth in shock. "What have I done?!" He said.
Efof fell to the ground. His arm was bleeding yellow liquid, and the rip in his
radiation suit was causing the rest of his skin to burn.

Rosette ran over to the fallen Ffionian ans quickly gripped the tattered shreds
of his radiation suit, tying them into a knot. It wasn't exactly airtight, but
should stop most of the radiation getting into his bleeding wound.
Under the cover of gunfire, they all left the trailer and backed into the
Xpress-lift elevator, which mercifully was still working. The door closed,
offering them a defence against the relentless attack of the Dolaroos.
Each of them leaned up against the wall of the elevator car and sighed with
relief, as the elevator took them to deck 88, where they found the Internal
Sensors control room. Rosette and Jay helped drag Efof along the floor into the
shelter of the room.
Holly's cheerful face popped up on a screen and Justin Pancake started pressing
buttons to boost the internal scanners.
"I can tell you..." Said Holly. "That the ship is infested with some GELF
creatures that are half-kangaroo, half-dolphin."
"We know that already, was that the only point we made it down here?" Said
Captain Chrysler.
Holly nodded. "Yep. Soz."
Amber stepped forward. "Can you tell us where we are?"
"You're on the Red Dwarf." Said Holly slowly and patronisingly. "It's a big red
spaceship-"
"No smeghead, I mean where in SPACE!" she shouted back. "We had to use the
Wormhole Drive in an emergency and couldn't plot in a destination. We've now got
no idea in space we are."
"Wait!" said Justin. "If the Red Dwarf's been drifting in space for about 10
years, can't we just head back in the direction it came from?"
Holly then moved his eyes around his head as he checked the internal sensors.
"Oh... uh... no actually you can't do that. It looks like we travelled through a
wormhole to get here too. I've got no idea where we are either, sorry dudes!"
It was then that Efof woke up with a scream.
He was laid on the floor and looked to his left, where a dead body stared back
at him. The charred skin was stretched back over its bones. Its skeleton arms
were brought up to its face, covering its skull from the explosion that killed
all the crew. Efof tried to push the dead body away from him, then realise he
only had three of his four arms.
He screamed again. "Where's my arm?!"
Rosette held up the blue limb, which had already started to shrivel and burn
from the radiation.
Efof screamed again. "What am I going to do with that? It's all radiated and
horrible!"
Rosette shook her head and threw it over her shoulder. Then leaned down to look
at Efof's bloodied stump.
"It's still bleeding." She surmised. "I'm not sure what to do."
Efof tried to fight back the pain so that he could talk. "There's a cure." He
said. "We Ffionians can grow back out arms... but only if we drink a certain
medicine."
"What is it?" Asked Jay, searching for a first aid kit around the room.
Efof shook his head. "No, it's not like any Human medicine. It's very rare on my
home planet."
Jay and Rosette bit their lips, where would they get such exotic ingredients?
"There... might be a very small chance they have the ingredients here... we
could try and make it?" Said Jay. "...maybe."
Efof nodded and shifted uncomfortably, then winced as he felt the pain in his
stump.
"Okay the ingredients are.... egg yolk.... sugar... and..." he winced again in
pain. "...and... milk. All mixed together"
Jay nodded, then moved the ingredients around in his head. Then he laughed.
"And? That's what will help you grow back another arm?!" He said.
Efof nodded. "I know it's hard to get those things. They're really rare
ingredients on my home planet."
"Efof you smeghead, that's the ingredients for custard! That's easy!" Jay
gathered the away team together. "There's a vending machine down the corridor.
The custard supply will still be sealed from radiation, bring some back here
ASAP!" he ordered.
As the team exited, Holly shouted at them. "Dudes wait, the Cadmium radiation is
REALLY strong that way. Your suits might melt!"
