*Action* - The mime-virus

<snip>
"...damn..." was all that Jayne managed to muster before the deck, significantly
weakened by the flames, and the sudden explosion collapsed downward, the entire
promenade, which ran the entire length of the ship fell from beneath their feet,
smashing through the deck plates below, taking everyone, and everything on the
promenades lower level with it.
A deck down, Jayne dug herself out from a pile of rubble and consumer goods.
"Well.." she said "That's never happened before...."
<end snip>
Who: Jayne and the Infidel Niples
Where: Underneath the Promenade, in a pile of debris
When: After the Promenade deck exploded
The imposter from a Parallel universe opened his eyes groggily. "Mimes...
mimes... everywhere." He muttered, before being yanked back into consciousness
as he felt someone tugging on his arm.
"Seymour. Seymour... I mean... 'Mister Ambassador'." Jayne said, remembering
that Seymour liked to answer to his full title.
"Mister who?"
Jayne stopped pulling on his arm and started loosening up some more debris
around him. "Oh god, you're delirious. You don't even know who you are!"
The infidel shook his head as he remembered where he was. "Yes. Ambassador.
That's me!"
"Good." Said Jayne. "I thought I'd have to go fetch Dr Keto."
Jayne moved aside some rubble and pulled Seymour out. They both stood on top of
the debris and assessed the damage. The Promenade could be seen through a very
large hole above him, a hole stat stretched far to the left and right of them.
The entire floor of the Promenade had been removed. They could see shop fronts,
which just ended at the entrance.
"This is bad. Really bad." Said Jayne. "Jay will be really pissed off."
The infidel shrugged. "Nevermind." He said.
"Nevermind? Seymour, the ship's being trashed, and you don't even care? This is
your home! The ship where you used to be Captain! How can you not care?"
"Oh. Oh yes. Damn. Damn them all to hell!" The Infidel said unconvincingly
slamming his fist down onto a broken piece of metal.
It was at that moment that they heard shouting, running up to them over the
rubble was Justin Pancake. It was hard to see at first, as the dust still hadn't
settled.
"I'm so glad you're okay!" called Pancake, from a few meters away
Jayne squinted as she looked behind him. "Pancake. Whose' that behind you?"
Jayne said, trying to see the face of the person following him.
"It's Seymour of course." Pancake said, moving aside to show a dishevelled
Seymour.
"Seymour... but..." Jayne turned to the Infidel, who was the exact duplicate of
Seymour but with a pencil thin moustache. He was stood with a gun pointing at
them and a dry smirk on his face.
"I knew that moustache was too unbelievable!" Jayne said.
"Quiet fools!" Said the infidel and cocked his weapon. "I hadn't hoped to be
caught out this early, you've ruined my plans."
"What plans?"
"Silence!" The Infidel stepped closer to Jayne and almost thrust the gun into
her face. "I'm switching to my backup plan. Do you know what sort of weapon this
is?"
Jayne, Seymour and Justin all looked at the gun in his hand. It looked like a
ray gun from a 1950's space opera, there was no clear barrel for any projectiles
to come out.
Everyone shook their heads.
"It's a mime-gun." He said proudly. "In my universe we use them to turn people
into mimes. It contains a self-replicating mime virus that turns someone into a
mute idiot, with the ability to communicate only with your actions. But not only
that, it creates a self-replicating virus. Everyone who touches the mime will
also be affected!"
He laughed manically before firing the gun at point black range at Jayne. She
fell backwards and was caught by Justin before she fell onto some sharp rubble.
The infidel laughed and ran away from them, heading towards the Flight Deck
where he hijacked a shuttle and left the Blue Dwarf.
Jayne and Justin looked at each other. Their entire appearance had now changed,
they were both wearing a black and white striped shirt, had a pale face, and
wore a beret. Justin started pretending he was trapped in an invisible box,
whilst Jayne started pulling on an invisible rope.
"Oh for god's sake." Said Seymour, slapping his hand to his face.
<OOC The "mime virus" will spread by touch, so everyone that touches either of
these pair will be affected. If you don't know what a mime looks like, here's a

<OOC2 I'm going away for two weeks and won't be able to post. Andy Longman
will be in charge of the group until I get back. And I'm sure you can all keep
the story going. There's no great master plan for the ending of this story so
please take it as far as you want in any direction. The Infidel has escaped,
feel free to pursue him if you want and use his character, otherwise just let
him go and I might pick him up again on my return. >
