Jed + Eddie - Finding medical attention

Who: Captain Jed Calvert & Father Eddie MonsoonWhere: Starbug, heading back to BDWhen: After Eddie was shot

<snip>
He didn't want to save Eddie's life, but he valued his enough to keep him alive. And anyway, Doc Keto could fix him up plenty good. In fact, as a reward for saving Eddie's life, he helped himself to the dying priests wallet. And his watch. And his gold fillings. Well, charity does begin at home. Before long, the green bug shaped vessel Jed had arrived it was on its way back home.

Jed straddled the control seat of the Starbug, beating the controls with a stick until it flew them back out of Mars atmosphere and towards the Blue Dwarf.

Behind him Father Eddie Monsoon was dying. He barely had enough energy left to apply pressure to his wound.
"A little help please…" Eddie said.

"Whut? Why do'ya think I'll help?"

"Because it hurts?"

"Ahm the one who shot y'all, I WANT yer ta hurt!"

Eddie scowled and tried not to pass out.

They reached the Blue Dwarf, which was still docked at Mars Space Station. Jed dragged Eddie all the way to the medi-bay and dumped him on the floor. He was about to leave him there, but noticed that there were no medical staff around.

He found this a little odd. "Whut do I pay these people for?!" He said. But assumed that they were all taking R+R either on the station or were down on Mars' surface.

He slapped Eddie on the face. Eddie was so pale now, it seemed like a real effort for him to stay conscious. "Pardner, there's no-one here but don'ya worry, I'll fix ya up real good."

Eddie was delirious but still frowned and tried to crawl off. "No, no leave me to die! You're not a doctor!"

Jed looked around in various cabinets and chilled fridges. (one seemed to contain a portal to another time-period, and had a sticker saying it was the property of Phil Febuggure. He ignored this fridge.)
Jed found what he was looking for and pulled out two plastic packets of blood.

"Yer low on blood right pardner?"
Eddie nodded slowly.
"Here, have these!" he flung the sachets to him.
Eddie looked at them suspiciously. "What exactly am I supposed to do with these?"

"Ah… not thought about that." Jed looked around for some hypodermic needles, but couldn't find any. "Erm… drink it." He said.
"What?"
"Drink it. It'll go to the same place right?"

Eddie was so delirious and so desperate for blood that he ripped the top off the packet and started to pour the blood into his mouth. It was a messy tear and the blood tricked down his face, staining his chin and his clothes with a deep red.
After he downed the entire lot, he lipped his blood-soaked lips, wanting more.

It was at this moment that a crewmember Rico Marinez walked in, took one look at the blood-sucking priest sat on the floor, and quickly exited again.

Who: Jed Calvert and Eddie Monsoon
Where: Mars station
When: A few hours later

After Jed's realisation that he was not in fact capable of medical care, he had taken Eddie to the Medical Centre on Mars station. They treated Eddie's leg with far more care than Dr Keto would have anyway.

Jed was about to leave the Medical Centre. He didn't care too much about the safety of Eddie now that he was in the capable hands of the doctors. But he pledged to come back soon, they still had the matter of the secure cargo container with Jed's shipment inside which they had left on Mars. Eddie still had the combination and Jed needed it.

He was about to go retrieve the cargo when he felt the police approaching. Jed had (or thought he had) a sixth sense for danger, especially as it seemed to follow him around everywhere.

Unfortunately in the medical centre he had nowhere to hide. The police barged in, there were two of them.
"Captain Jed Calvert, we want to talk to you about some `illicit cargo' you had been shipping to the Martian Monks of Redgrave."

Jed wasted no time, this could either go badly, or very badly. He pulled on the closest thing he could find for a weapon, which happened to be one of those vertical bars with a drip attached, and swung it around, catching the first policeman before he could pull out his weapon.
As the first man went down, the second pulled out his gun. Jed ducked to the floor to avoid the first laser shot, and picked up a chrome bucket. It had recently been next to an old mans bed and was still full of frothy wee.

Jed swung the bucket and knocked the mans gun out of his hand, then turned the bucket upside down on his head.

Jed quickly darted into the next room. Eddie was laying on the bed. He was resting after his operation to replace his shattered kneecap.

Jed dragged the priest out of bed and before he could protest, Eddie was testing out his new knee. "They know about the loot. We have to go find it."

"Is it that important? Can't you just let me rest?"
"Nope." Said Jed.
"Can we just go to the pub instead?"
"Nope." Said Jed. "I wanna git paid! THEN you can go to whatever saloon ya want! I'm spending it on a thousand cheap hookers…. Or maybe one really nice one." He paused. "Naw, a thousand cheap ones. Yeehaw!"

Eddie nodded in agreement. "Do you know where the cargo is?"
"Gimme a sec." Said Jed.

He removed one of his pistols from his ridiculous cowboy belt and turned to the policeman with the bucket on his head.
"Howdy. Ya wanna be telling me where you've taken the loot?"
"You mean the illicit cargo?"

Jed shot the man halfway between his knee and his ankle. The man's leg buckled, finding a new place to bend where it never could before. He screamed.
"It's in a cargo shed on Mars."
"Where?"
"A town called `Argyre Planitia (on-the-Wolds)'"

Jed hit the bucket on the mans head again with a load clang. Deafened, the man slumped to the floor.

Jed turned to Eddie, pulling a gun on his which was barely necessary. "Come with me to collect the booty!"
"Do I have to?" Said Eddie.
"Quit yer yammerin'! Ya still owe me fur getting' me sent to prison!"

Eddie put his hands in his pockets and kicked the floor.
