the Same Person / Secret Passage
Who: the two Jessies
Where: A random corridor.
When: several weeks after the crew left to infiltrate the French Foreign
Legion.
The Jessies had been wandering around the strangely deserted ship for
weeks, and seen no-one at all. They were both starting to get annoyed, as
neither of them were enjoying their own company as much as they'd
expected. What had begun as half-hearted conversation had degenerated
into stony silence over a week ago. Finally, one of them (who we'll call
Alpha to avoid confusion) spoke.
"You know, I didn't realise before. There's finally someone I can
talk to about... it."
There was no reply. Alpha tried again. "You do know what 'it' -
"
Beta, who'd been thinking the same thing, promptly took a contrary
position. "Of course I remember what 'it' is!" she snapped.
"I've remembered what she did to me every day, every single
day since! You can't possibly know what I've been going
through."
Alpha immediately lashed out at her. "Of course I bloody well know!
I AM you! We're the same person, how can I NOT know?!"
"You've never been in my position, you can't understand..." the
other ranted on, regardless. But this time she'd gone too far. Alpha hit
her.
There was a crash as she went right through the wall... just where there
was a convenient loose panel.
Alpha stood gazing thoughtfully at it for several minutes. "That
looks like it was done on purpose." she murmured. "It smegging
was! You hit me!" said Beta, struggling out of the wreckage. Alpha
ignored her as she examined the edges of the panel. "It wasn't even
attached properly. Just this one rivet - almost as if it's supposed to
swing aside." She looked up. "I think we've found a secret
passage."
