Physical Appearance

Garth is tall, about 6’ 2’’. He is surprisingly muscular for a scientist. He was born with white hair. He has it back in corn rows and he has a white beard that is tied together with a small bead. His most striking feature is the glowing blue lines that cover his body. He also wears a monocle that is held in place by a gold coloured band that goes around the head. The monocle is over his right eye, which is said to be completely white. The monocle allows Garth to see with his blind eye. He wears a blue trench coat with the sleeves cut off, showing his strong arms. On his left arm is a band that holds bottles of medicine and other small objects. This is just one of many storage bags that he has. Across his chest are two belts that hold all manner of objects and on his right shoulder is a brown leather belt that holds five throwing knives. On his back is also a dagger that is sheathed and attacked to a belt. On both of his wrists are large blue leather bracers that hold several syringes full of medicine. Since Plisken became Plisken, Garth has carried Plisken’s pocket watch but Garth could never explain why he did so. He wore it tucked into a pouch on one of his belts, never using it.

Personality and Interests

Garth enjoys company. He may seem stoic and unfriendly at first but once he trusts someone he can become firm friends with them. Garth enjoys reading above most other things, keeping large amounts of books in all of his homes. Garth does not like to fight and will avoid it if necessary. However, if he finds someone in danger then he will go to their aid, friend or foe. The only time he picks fight is with Plisken, never fully trusting him anymore. Garth’s favourite activity is to be in a quite room, drinking tea and reading a book in the company of friends and with suitable music. Garth finds anything to do with any science interesting, finding things to do with the human body the most fascinating.

History

Garth was born to two African parents, both of whom were scientists. Garth grew up around science and began to study genetics himself. But by the time he was 21, Garth had mastered both quantum physics, theoretical physics, genetics, Warp Theory and a few others. Garth tried to keep himself unknown, not wanting to draw attention to himself. He wanted to be left alone to study his sciences. It was sometime later that Garth began to try and manipulate human DNA on a live subject-0 himself. What he was trying to achieve is known only to Garth but the outcome was the blue lines the cross his entire body. Some say this gave him powerful abilities like summoning fire with a click of the fingers but whenever questioned on it Garth fails to supply an answer- vanishing from the region the next day. In the time before Plisken was who he was today, Garth was contacted by Plisken. Plisken had dug deep into records and found Garth’s name. Garth had hidden himself in the twenty years prior to Plisken finding him. Garth allowed Plisken and audience. Plisken asked to study under Garth, wanting to learn about the human body. After 2 years Plisken finally told Garth what his plan was. When Garth heard he nearly killed Plisken then and there. In Garth’s eyes, resurrection was a science that should have been forgotten. But Garth held back and instead sent Plisken down the wrong path, feeding him false information. When Plisken found out, after spending a year studying the wrong thing, he swore that if he would ever meet Garth again he would kill him. But Garth never fully found out what happened to Plisken, only that he had been stripped of his name, rank, ship and crew. Garth followed Plisken to Blue Dwarf, wanting to keep an eye on him. Plisken found out about Garth’s presence but decided that Garth had been right to try and prevent him from bringing back Kate. Garth became the Chief Science Advisor on Blue Dwarf, upgrading some of its systems. He never joined the Space Corps., same as he never joined any other organisation- he didn’t want to be tied to one place. Garth was put into stasis with the rest of the survivors.
