Marina's reticence

Marina had been with the Council for a few years by this point. She'd done plenty of missions for them, and not once was there a sign of disloyalty from her. She lacked the experience and seniority to be considered among the highest in the Council, but she was certainly aiming for it, and aiming pretty well.

She took a drag from her smoke and sighed, looking at that quaint coffee shop where they were meeting, it was, of course, exclusive to those in the secret world, thus making it possible to talk openly without fear. She tapped her cigarette on top of the ashtray.

"I can, yes." She sighed, carefully setting her cigarette to lean on the ashtray. Then she picked up her cup of coffee and took a sip. "Of course, Carmen, I'm not too happy about it, I signed up to be an agent, not a nanny."

Marina and Carmen were close in rank. Carmen was still Marina's superior, but they were close enough that Marina felt comfortable talking openly about her feelings.

"But I'll do it. You wouldn't send me if it wasn't a worthy endeavor, after all." A slight smile. "But before I go, I need to know more about this... Loosely affiliated group you're talking about. If the big three are working together, that means there has to be something big going on in Indiana. And I'd like to know what I'm heading into
