Choi tried to take in all this information. He was unfamiliar with working with this Illuminati team. He wasn’t sure of their tactics.
Yeong wasn’t even familiar with the Dragon team with whom he was currently assigned. He may need to ask for a reassignment. One of those on his own team seemed to have a mind of her own, with no thought of team.
Choi always tried to keep positive. It was what he learned in schooling at the monastery. What would Master Park do?
“So,” Choi inquisitively asked, “you are asking us to be the yin to your yang?”
He was considering this as a way for the lich to let up. If they could get her to drop her defenses, perhaps they had a chance.
The Countess lifted her hand telling Choi to hold his question. She never took her eyes off Sung. "What is your name?" The Countess asked, her tone was inquisitive.
Sung shook his head looking at the ground. "What? You do not trust me?" Commented Sung. He cracked a smile "To you, Mr. Sung Shun Shi." Sung answered the Countess's question.
While the Countess was busy with Sung, Alyssa noticed Max was doing something, even if she couldn't tell exactly what. The hacker knew that the man who was really barely one, was probably planning something that would blow everything.
Alyssa thought into the chip, at Max. Max, what ever your thinking of doing don't. Its a ruse. You're going to blow it if you attack, and probably end up worse than dead."
Agent Powers was startled by the sound of Alyssa's voice. He didn't think anyone was watching him since he was still in the same place the Lich dropped him to. He gritted his teeth as he listened to her words. He replied through the chip, "EEEhhhhh!!!???? Sounds more like we are turning on each other. I am just waiting to see how this plays out. My mission is to protect our team. Remember?" Agent Powers continued to recover his strength as he waited to see what Sung was going to do.
“I thought it was a logical question,” chimed Choi. “You know, if we are working together, it would be the positivity of our yin with the negativity of your yang. It would be creating a balance. Is that what you want us to provide? The balance of a yin to your yang?”
Inwardly, Yeong was grinning. He was hoping his constant jabbering was creating enough of a distraction for Sung.
“Powers? Did I hear her calling you a little boy? You are mistaken, Countess. Although sometimes he seems to say immature things, Agent Powers is a grown man. Older than myself. Although, not as old as some. What do you think, Powers? You up to being the yin for the Countess’ Yang? The balance of yin and yang could be a continuous cycle. A full circle. That would be us alright!”
Alyssa thought back into the chip, Do you trust me? I mean I trust you, does it work both ways? Because, if so, trust me now. No one is turning on each other. We are trying to make her let down her defenses, her hold on Sung. There's not one of us who can fight her alone. We need to do this together. Please, just believe me.``
"Alyssa," the weak voice of her father could be heard again. "You promised."
She was still close to her father, close enough that when she turned to look at him again, he managed a wink so quick only Alyssa would see it.
"I am sorry father but it might be our only chance." He still had his intellect, given his state though Alyssa didn't know if that was a good or bad thing. She wondered though why he wasn't using the chip to communicate with her.
Agent Powers closed his eyes as he listened to Alyssa. It was hard for him to change his way of doing things. He had been a solo soldier for so long it was hard work in a team. He began to understand what his father was telling him about expanding his horizons. True he had been through hell and back on his own but now he had new responsibilities and a team to protect. He felt it was wrong to give in but his orders were to protect his team and take their lead even if he was against it. He calmed himself down again as he lowered his breathing before replying to Alyssa through his chip, "Fine. It's your call, but if you are wrong we are all dead." Agent Powers didn't look at Alyssa as he looked at the ground and used his peripheral vision to see what the lich was doing.
Alyssa then thought into the chip at Peter, "Peter, I get it's a ruse but I sure hope you know what you're doing."
She was glad Yeong was playing along. Either it would work or they'd end up in a bad way.
The Countess lifted her hand as one of the chained women moned. He looked at her "You are interrupting me dog!" declared the Countess. With a wave of her hands, white mist flowed from her body to the Countess's hand. a white glowing ball formed as the woman became a dried husk. Nothing but skin and bone left of the women. As the body turned to dust and fell to the ground.
Sung bowed his head and relaxed his arms at his side; he looked defeated." All right stop" said Sung, sounding tired. Sung bowed his head and relaxed his arms at his side. "If you spare the others I will surrender to you," said Sung, almost stumbling forward a few steps. He drops to one knee.
The Countess smiles "Swear to serve me now Sung Shun Shi!" The Countess demands.
"I swear to The Eternal Watch" yelled Sung. Briefly Sung was surrounded by white mist, in an instant even the human eye could not catch Sung was near Alyssa. Drawing his sword in one graceful movement He cut the chains of the woman and Alyssa's father. Sung then vanished, appearing near the Countess. The strike was not even seen as a cut just appeared on her chest with a flash of light. It was deep and burning her as she disappeared in a puff of black smoke.
The Countess appeared before people could react behind the group near the door she struck Sartre in the back sending him flying into Agent Powers both of them rolled to the middle of the room. his Sartre's body instantly got cold like all of the heat was drained from him. He was feeling weak not even being able to walk.
When the lich disappeared, Choi realized her energy was going elsewhere. He could freely move. He closed his eyes, reaching out with his spiritual sense, for it never deceived him.
He heard the thump of Sartre and Powers coming together and sensed the Countess behind them. As Sartre’s presence was no longer there, but upon the floor with Max, Yeong, with eyes closed, swung his geom quickly at the lich.
“I was always trained that yin and yang work together, not against each other,” he stated.
Realizing that he felt drained, Sartre Managed to pick himself up off the floor and regain at least some of his stamina. He figured that bullets would not work here so he decided to do something he had not done in 12 years. He would use elemental or new magic, magic that did not require use of a grimoire. He casted the freeze spell Which would envelop the gargantuan lich In ice for a few seconds before shattering and causing both freezing And slicing damage. As he launched the frigid energy blast from his hand. He lost all feeling in his fingertips. As the lich became Frozen and covered in ice, Sartre rushed for hand to hand combat.
As her father fell down from the chains, she caught him. He was so weak and thin now, that he didn't weigh much.
Putting her hands in his, Matt Wilson whispered. "Destroy her." She had no thought to disobey her father's wish.
Alyssa watched what the others were doing. She was, technically, still recovering from all the lost blood earlier but wasn't nearly as weak as she had been.
The hacker also realized quickly gunpower wouldn't be the answer. Her power required touching the woman.
Well, that might be convenient or won't work. Alyssa ran closer to the lich, the ice didn't last long enough, and Alyssa tried putting her hand directly on the lich.
The sword swung from Choi and cut into her; she winced as it burned, cutting through her. The Ice casing appeared over The Lich just after the cut. The Lich Ice case burst into small chards as she vanished from that spot in a whiff of black smoke. She appeared across the room away from everyone.
Alyssa was close enough to feel the ice shards, they didn't injure her but stung just a bit.
When the hacker realized she missed the Countess, "Shit," hissed from her mouth. There had to be a way to kill that thing.
[/i]Max,[/i] Alyssa used the chip. "I take it back. Don't use a gun but do something."
It was then to try to figure out if the Countess was able to snuck up on.
Agent Powers heard Alyssa's cry for help and he quickly put his hand to his mouth and shoved four baseball sized ampules of holy water in his mouth. Now he resembled a rather muscular chipmunk with huge puffy cheeks before there was a slight crunch of glass in his mouth. Then much like the fire breathers in the carnival, Agent Powers used his powerful lungs to spray the holy water in the direction of the Lich and above her so the mist would slowly rain down on everyone in the room. Then he reached for his shotgun to prepare for a shot as he spit out the glass.
