Curiosity In One Place, Concern In Another

Sophia looks at Perrine as they continue, contemplating how she should answer his inquiry. For her, life has been a new path since a year ago. She’s free of her father, able to go where she pleases and do as she wishes - so long as she isn’t getting chased by the police. It takes her a moment to decide what to do and say.

“I used to live on a farm until a year ago.” She finally answers after a few more minutes of continual walking on her and Honey’s part. The wolf-dog looked at her before licking the hand closest to her snout, a sign of both affection and concern for her human. “A tornado hit my home, but I had enough sense to get into the cellar, unlike the drunk of an old man I called papa, so he got blown away. I should feel bad, but I don’t. He had it coming to him for years after mama’s death. I’ve been on the move since. Met Honey along the way.”

She glances at Perrine once more. “I would ask you about your story, but I’m aware of the difficulties you have with speech at the moment.” She adds. “Is it because you don’t speak often? I noticed you make animal sounds very well. Guessing you can speak to them or something.”

Khun keeps her tone calm, yet stern, as she explains the details of the situation and tells the nurses all that she needs. They are quick to get it and help set things up so that she can care for Lydia. The girl, from what the doctor can tell, has overexerted herself and is in need of monitoring and a lot of checks. This takes her some time, well over a few hours, but she gets the girl stable and evens her vitals out.

Making sure the nurses keep an eye on her, she goes to Johnathan, Cynthia and the other new member that she has yet to learn the name of. “She’s stable, but she needs a lot of rest.” Khun explains to them calmly as she tightens the ponytail she’s put her hair in. “She shouldn’t use her abilities like that. It puts a heavy strain on her brain and body, stressing it out and sending it into a total panic. She needs to be monitored for a few days to make sure she heals and gets the proper rest.”
