To Save A Life

Khunara is already awake, her mind on a nightmare that jolted her awake about an hour ago. Looking at the door upon hearing the knock and yells, she gets to her feet and walks over. Unlocking the door, she opens it to see Johnathan and brushes her hair from her shoulder. “What’s going on?” She asks him.

Once she is given an explanation and understands the situation, her medical brain instantly turns on and gets to work. She grabs up her bag of medical supplies and rushes off to where Finlay is. A quick check tells her everything that’s wrong with him. Between the dehydration and his muscle guarding, she is aware that he requires fluids and starts an IV in his left arm.

She also gets to work on counteracting the hypothermia, grabbing blankets and anything else that she’s allowed to use. Getting the fluids and some medicine connected to the IV so he can start to become hydrated, Khun makes a lot of notes in her mind that she will have to write down later.

It takes her a few hours to get everything done, having to ask about the locations of supplies in the room she’s using to treat the boy in. No matter how anyone acts or speaks to her, she stays in her doctor mode, determination to save Finlay all that’s on her mind.

“Where did you find this boy?” Khun asks the others once she’s taken care of all of Finlay’s needs. Her eyes are on a notebook she’s writing notes in at a fast pace. To anyone else it probably looks like chicken scratch, but she understands it all. “He’s malnourished, suffering hypothermia - though, I’m positive I fixed that issue - dehydrated and suffering muscle guarding…this is going to take time for the boy to heal from.”
