Welcome to Havenbrook

Our story begins in Havenbrook, a bustling commerce hub built around the intersection of two major trade routs, in Eldoria's southernmost territory of Greenwood. Havenbrook is home to many races, but especially humans and dwarves under the rule of Governor Tarquin. The influx of goods from distant lands has made the settlement an important fixture in the region and its residents enjoy a comfortable living.

However, in recent months a malevolent darkness has begun to take hold of the land. Tales of fell creatures attacking caravans in the night and remote settlements being found completely desolated, have become commonplace. 'Shadowspawn' some elders have whispered, alway followed by a grimace and a guttural spit. Sensing worse on the horizon, Tarquin has sent out a call to arms. Every bulletin board, ale house, and wagon in the region has had a poster nailed to it, advertising coin and glory for short term service.

Adventurers entering Havenbrook will notice logs being drug from the nearby forest of Locksley and a palisade being hastily erected around the village. Town guards and militiamen nervously patrol, pikes at the ready, challenging all who enter. A mix of wood slatted buildings and wattle and daub homes line the streets, each one a unique reflection of the different cultures that have come to make up Havenbrook. At the very center of town is a tavern, decorated in the traditional style of the Woodsy Elves, run by Brunhilda- the single most buxom woman in Eldoria. ...Or so her patrons would claim. Not far away, atop a gently rising hill, is the mayor's residence. According to the posters, an assembly is due to be held in his courtyard in three days time, to address all the would-be adventurers.
