JP - Mission

After making sure Haven and Yule were safe, Lyle grabbed his gear and headed to the helipad where Anna was waiting.

Anna would already be sitting in her usual spot on the helicopter, looking over her sharp claws. “Took you long enough, eye patch.” She muttered.

"Had to freshen up for our date" Lyle teased gesturing to his body armor before climbing aboard. "And here I was hoping maybe to see you in a nice black dress, maybe some heels."

Anna rolled her eyes. "I don't wear dresses or high heels, human." She hissed, hating how easily he always got under her skin with his teasing. This blonde man was going to drive her insane.

That was when Riven and Abraham hopped aboard. "Yo!" The ice wolf said with a grin.

"What are you doing here?" Anna glared at them.

"Sent on the mission with ya!" Riven chimed as he got fastened in properly. "Abe, mind explaining?"

"The boss believes this meta we are going after will not make things easy for any of us." Abraham explained calmly. "They sent us to aid in the capture. I've brought extra tools in case they are particularly difficult. Do you know who the target is yet?" He held up a folder on their target for Lyle to look through.

"We'll I was under the impression this was a romantic getaway to the beach and Anna was hiding her swimsuit under her robes" Lyle replied as he took the folder trying to keep his cool. Anna he could handle but Abraham made him feel uneasy, he saw Riley cremate and bury him so how was he still alive.

"So what's the mission then?" he asked in a calm tone, moving over to sit next to Anna.

Anna looked over the folder with Lyle and frowned. “Jesus, they want us going after them again?” She cursed under her breath. “Last time I ran into gravity boy, Fang, I almost lost my fuckin’ legs.”

“There’s also Lola with him…” Riven grumbled and covered his ears in anticipation of the helicopter’s engine. “We don’t even know her power yet, but she’s considered a highly dangerous meta, much like Fang…”

"Dead or alive?" Lyle asked, patting Anna on the shoulder in support. He wasn't a part of the squad yet during their last encounter but that didn't mean he wouldn't watch over them.

"And this Fang guy he controls gravity?"

“Yeah, he can either make you float,” Riven started.

“Or make everything so heavy it crushes you…” Anna finished and shuddered, touching her legs. “Looks like it wants us to capture him and Lola alive.”

"Relax you got me watching your back now" Lyle replied in a reassuring tone "we'll bag these two and get drunk to celebrate."

“I do not drink,” Anna said in a huff.

“Is she always like this, Lyle?” Riven asked, chowing down on some ice chips he brought along.

"Oh she's a softie once you get to know her" Lyle teased, hugging Anna and pulling her into his lap.

Anna flailed and fought, pushing at Lyle’s head and attempting to return to her own seat. “What has gotten into you, human?!” She screeched.

“Please refrain from violence while we are in a helicopter miles above ground…” Abraham said to her.

Riven was too busy chuckling.

"Maybe I've fallen for you" Lyle chuckled kissing her on the cheek before letting her go.

Anna shoved Lyle. “In your dreams, human!” She snapped.

“You are possibly one of the most hateful women I have encountered.” Riven said, only getting flipped the bird for his statement.

Abraham sighed heavily and crossed his arms, waiting.

"I'll win you over, after all you already think I'm handsome"Lyle chuckled.

Anna looked like she was going to punch him, but kept to her spot and waited for them to arrive in the small neighborhood where Fang and Lola had been spotted. It wasn’t really much of a neighborhood, but more of a ghost town. Most of the buildings were dilapidated and windows were broken - some boarded up. It was like staring at something out of an old horror film.

“I hate places like this…” Riven shifted in discomfort once they were off the helicopter.

Abraham just started forward and went to the first house, checking for traps.

Anna settled her hands on her hips and looked at Lyle. “Where you think they could be hiding? This place has been abandoned for years…they were last seen heading into this town.”
