JP-Leimomi making her Rounds
Since Tzeitel was busy with some medical appointments, after talking to Evie Leimomi decided to see some of the other newcomers to the Underground. She gently knocked on the door to the room with Saija, Yule and Haven.
Saija was groggy from painkillers, but the knock had her anxious and alert.
Haven looked to the door.
Yule slowly climbed out of bed in a very cat-like manner. Going to the door, eyes half lidded, she looked at Leimomi. “Hello?” She asked.
“Hello, I’m Leimomi, I’m a therapist. Can I come in?” She asked.
Haven recognized her. “She was in the village.”
Yule stepped back and nodded, going back to her bed. “What do you need, ma’am?” She asked politely.
“I’m here to help you.” Leimomi said. “There are not many mental health professionals in the meta community.”
“Oh…uhm…” Yule looked at Haven and Saija, not sure how to respond to this woman. “Uh…do…do you know my sister? Gelf?”
“Yes.” Leimomi nodded with a smile. “You look just like her. I found Gelf to be very kind, patient and understanding.”
“She always was that way when we were kids, too…” Yule grabbed her pillow and hugged it. “I…uhm…how can you help us?”
“Sometimes just talking can help.” Leimomi said. “I can also help you learn coping skills, understand yourself better…”
“She was in the village. She’s supposed to be good.” Haven said, though she was wary to talk to Leimomi about what she had been through the past five years.
“I…uh…guess.” Yule sounded as wary as Haven about this.
“You don’t have to tell me anything you’re not comfortable talking about yet.” Leimomi said.
“We were in a MegaCorp facility for a long time. Haven was there for the past five years with me, but I…I don’t really remember how long I’ve been there. Saija, though…” Yule looked at the woman, tears stinging at her own eyes for the poor woman.
‘I’m not a meta.’ Saija wrote on her notepad.
“I can help all of you.” Leimomi said. Handing Yule a box of tissues.
Yule took a tissue to deal with her nose and tears. “W-what exactly can you do to help us?” She glanced at Saija’s notepad. “J-just cause you’re not a meta doesn’t mean…it doesn’t mean you’re not welcome. Right?”
“I’m a therapist.” Leimomi explained. “The Underground has a lot of non-meta allies.”
“She helped Tzeitel, the crazy pheromone user, become less… crazy.” Haven told Yule.
“She’s crazy?” Yule blinked.
“She was.” Haven said.
“I can’t discuss other patients for privacy reasons, but Tzeitel wasn’t crazy and she isn’t crazy.” Leimomi said.
Yule just sat there, confused now.
Leimomi pulled some blank journals from her bag. “Here, you don’t have to show me what you write, but writing things down can help.”
Yule took two of them and slid one over to Haven so she wouldn’t have to get too close to anyone. “Thank you.” She said.
Haven accepted the journal with a thanks.
“There’s also a card with my number in it. If you ever want to talk, don't hesitate to call me.” Leimomi said. “Or text.” She added for Saija’s benefit. “I have to go for now.”
“O-okay…” Yule said, opening the book to find the card. She would keep this close…
Leimomi smiled and left.
