Frisk helped transport Joel into the med ward.

Joel slipped in and out of the waking world muttering Annie’s name before coughing blood.

Joel was whisked off to surgery. Frisk hoped he would be alright. She pulled out her cell and started texting Delilah, Mark, Annie, River, Piritta, etc, about where Joel was now and what little he had said about Riley being taken by Thrane.

As Joel slept while in and out of surgery he dreamt of the day he lost his parents. The nightmare plaguing his mind over and over again.

When he was stable and resting, Annie would be the first to arrive, practically crashing into the wall on her way.

Joel whimpered and shook as slept , remembering how alone he was waiting for his parents in the rain.

Annie went to him and gently set a hand on his arm. “Joel…” She whispered.

Joel seemed to calm down at her touch, his breathing slowing down.

Annie moved her hand to his and held it, gently rubbing the back of it. “I’m here for you.” She said and would stay there until he woke up.

"Annie" Joel whimpered holding her hand right.

Annie pulled his hand to her chest and pressed it there so he could feel her heartbeat like always. It was the best way to remind him, even in his dreams, that he was never going to be alone again.

Joel surprisingly pulled Annie went to bed with him. Holding her close as if she'd disappear. His dreams changed to when they first met. "I'm going to keep you" dream Annie said.

Annie blinked and practically wrapped herself around Joel in a protective manner, purring to help further calm him.

Joel nuzzled into Annie recognizing her scent and smiling. He began to dream of moments he spent with the cat girl ever since they first met. Hours later he would begin to wake up his eyes slowly opening.
