JP - Scared
Evie seemed to calm a little when the male doctor left, one hand waving out like she was trying to push him further away. Turning her gaze to Frisk, more tears began to fall down her face and she was suddenly pulling the woman into a tight hug as years of pain came pouring out in her cries and whimpers.
"It's okay Evie, you're safe now." Frisk whispered, gently hugging the girl back, careful not to press on any injuries. Examining and treating Evie could wait until she was calmer.
“I…I…” Evie sniffled, taking almost half an hour to simply stop crying. “I thought I’d be there forever!” She whimpered out the words, only smearing blood on her own face every time she wiped at her tears.
"You're out and you're safe now." Frisk gently wiped Evie's face with a tissue, professionally masking her worry about the blood. "Can I check your injuries now?"
Evie nodded and sniffled, sitting down properly now. When Frisk looked her over she would see all kind of old scars, new scars, and healing wounds all along the poor girl’s body. There were even some in places that should never be cut… “W-what’s gonna happen to me…? W-who was it that got me out?” She asked.
“I haven’t had a chance to get briefed on how they got you out or who was there.” Frisk said as she carefully tended to Evie’s wounds, trying not to show how upset she was at the abuse the girl had been put through. “You’re in the Meta Underground for now, we have a proper hospital now. Where you go after you have healed is up to you. You can stay here for as long as you want, even permanently. Or you can go back to Gelf’s Farm. She happens to be here now, along with Kiana and Sorley, of course.”
“O-okay…” Evie could not think of anything else to say as she let Frisk work. All she could think about was what would come through the door. Her mind kept playing tricks on her, telling her Thrane was going to walk through that door and cut into again and again and again…
Closing her eyes, she whimpered. “I’m scared…”
“I know.” Frisk said, gently rubbing her back. “You’re safe now but it will be a while before you feel safe again. It will get better. Leimomi is here if you want to talk to her.”
“C-can she come here…?” Evie whimpered and resisted the urge to scratch at her newly bandaged body. “Can…can you find out who saved me? Please?”
“I can call her and have her come here.” Frisk said, pulling out her phone and calling Leimomi’s number, gently putting her hand on Evie’s less injured shoulder. “I can find out who saved you too.”
“Okay,” Evie was still shaking a bit, still full of fear as she curled up on the bed and hugged her legs to her chest. “T-thank you…”
Frisk spoke briefly with Leimomi. “I’ll stay with you until Leimomi gets here, okay?” Frisk asked, gently brushing Evie’s hair back from her face with her fingers.
All Evie could do was nod, too scared to speak at the moment. Everything about her said horrible things happened - her extra white as snow skin, the bandages that Frisk had put on her, dark circles under her eyes, and the very constant fear in said eyes. Not even clothes or a blanket could hide what had happened to her now…
Frisk carefully sat on the edge of the bed and gently held Evie, trying to help her feel safer. It was a few minutes before Leimomi arrived, looking more than just five years older but her kind eyes would always be familiar.
“Hi Evie.” Leimomi greeted her softly.
“...hi,” Evie replied, leaning into Frisk’s embrace like a child.
“Let me know when you’re ready for me to leave.” Frisk softly told Evie.
Leimomi sat in a chair and looked at Evie. “We have a lot to catch up on.”
Evie seemed to cling onto Frisk’s arm, not wanting her to leave. “Y-yes, we do…I…I was…I…” She couldn’t say it yet, the memories of all that happened playing out in her mind’s eye like a horrid nightmare that was taunting her.
Frisk rubbed Evie's shoulder comfortingly.
"Like before, you don't have to say anything you're not ready to talk about." Leimomi said, setting a new journal of the same style that she had given Evie before on the bedside table.
Evie looked at the journal, remembering the one she used to have that Thrane had taken from her. “He…he has my old one…he has it!” She whimpered out the words.
