JP - Min and Cook
Min woke up in a sterile room, strapped to a bed. She tried asking the people she saw where she was and other questions but so far none would speak to her. Her injuries were treated but she was still in pain and terrified. She had been treated badly before, that was not even the first time she had been raped, but what that… monster… did to her went beyond just rape. She shuddered.
A hand gently touched Min’s arm. “Miss? Are you awake?” Cook’s voice was a whisper.
Min flinched from the touch, though the man had managed to touch her on the arm in the few parts of her body that were not cut, burned or otherwise injured. “Yes.” She whispered.
“It’s okay, I’m not going to hurt you,” Cook whispered and gently slipped something into her hand. “Take this with your next meal, okay? It’ll keep you from getting pregnant.”
Min wrapped her fingers around the pill. She had been on birth control, but had a feeling this place was not going to let her continue taking them. “Thank you. Where am I?” She asked in a whisper.
Cook let out a deep sigh. “A MegaCorp facility…” He admitted.
“Isn’t that where they keep dangerous metas?” Min asked softly, confused. She understood them keeping the monster who hurt her, but did not understand why she was here.
“They know he…raped you.” Cook’s voice got a dangerous edge when he had to say that horrible word. “They want his children. I’m trying to save you from giving birth to a meta child. They often let the women that give birth to them die.”
Min blushed and looked away. "I was on birth control… will they just let me go?" She asked hopefully.
“I doubt it,” Cook said with a sigh. “That’s why I’m going to help you heal and get you out.”
“Thank you.” Min whispered, feeling tears coming to her eyes. It had been a long time since she was last shown kindness.
"Just try to rest for now," He replied and slipped away. A curtain could be heard, followed by his retreating footsteps.
Min closed her eyes but she could not sleep. She was in pain and scared. When MegaCorp realized she was not pregnant were they going to give her to that monster again? She shuddered.
After a while Cook would return and set a tray of food down for Min, sitting in the chair by the bed. He made sure to keep the curtains closed around the bed so no one would bother her. “Can’t sleep?” He asked softly.
Min shook her head. She looked at the tray of food, she did not have much of an appetite. “What’s going to happen to me?”
“I’m going to get you out of here as soon as I can,” Cook answered.
“What will happen to me if I don’t get out soon?” Min asked in a small, scared voice.
“Well…I’d rather not even think about that, miss…” Cook shook his head and shuddered. “Just know I’m here to help, okay? I used the excuse of feeding you to check in and make sure you’re doing well.”
“You have to leave?” Min looked at him with wide eyes.
“I don’t want to, but yes. I’ve set it up so they won’t bother you, but I can only keep it up for so long…that’s why I’m working to get you out of here as soon as possible.” Cook pulled the curtain aside just enough for him to look out.
Min shivered in fear. “What would they do to me?”
“It’s best you do not know,” He answered and closed the curtain, happy to see no one else in the room.
“I’ve been… raped… before.” Min blushed slightly.
"That's something that should never happen to someone," Cook replied, a look of sympathy on his face. "I won't let anyone here do that to you."
“That monster with the skin was the worst… I just need to know what to expect here.” Min said softly.
“Since you’re not a meta, most people may ignore you, but there are some guards that will…do things to you. They’ll try to rape or harm you…” Cook answered and looked through his military vest, finally pulling out a pocket knife and slipping it into her hand. “In case one of them tries anything.”
Min closed her fingers around the pocket knife. “Thank you.”
Cook nodded. “I’ve decided I’m going to try harder than my father ever did…I’m going to help anyone I can.” He admitted.
“Who was your father?” Min asked.
“His name was Cook.” He replied with a shrug.
“Oh.” If Min had been part of the meta community she would have heard of him. But she was a baseline human who up until Clonestone got her spent all her time around other baselines.
“It’s okay, he wasn’t well known,” Cook said as he started to get up. “I have to go do my rounds and check on others. I’ll be back at dinner time, okay?”
“Okay.” Min said, clutching the pocket knife.
