JP - The Cat Found Evie
“Let's hope for the best…” Gregor said and followed the stairs down. The moment he and Whiskers were inside, the door would close itself behind them and dim lights would flicker along the long hallway leading to an elevator door.
Whiskers puffed up all his hair, hissing in fear, jumped straight in the air three times before running down the hallway in a panic.
Gregor raised an eyebrow at Whiskers and walked along, stopping at the door to see if the cat would chill out. “Would Evie approve of such behavior?”
Whiskers sat down and neatly groomed his paws as if he had been calm this entire time.
Gregor shook his head and went to the door, listening to it for a long moment before making a gun appear and shooting the panel on the wall. The door clicked and began to open up. “There we go…” Pushing his way in, he took them along a short hallway where they could hear a woman screaming.
Whisker’s tail puffed up like a bottle brush but he bravely continued forward.
“Gregor, why are you here?” A deep voice said and the gun meta froze. Standing in their path as if he just appeared there was Thrane, staring at them with those amber eyes of his. “Are you perhaps in search of a certain pink haired man and a silver haired woman?”
Whiskers hunkered close to the floor and tried to sneak past Thrane.
With a heavy sigh, Thrane had Whiskers floating in the air and looked at him. “Keep it up and I’ll make you into Evie’s dinner.”
“Leave him alone, Thrane!” Gregor snapped.
Whiskers would be proud to sacrifice himself to save Evie from starving to death, something he thought could happen in less than an hour. He also thought his Goddess could revive him from his own bones so the sacrifice might not mean as much as it seemed. He yowled for Evie.
Thrane rolled his eyes and sent Gregor flying back down the hall. Smirking, he grabbed Whiskers by the scruff and took him in the opposite direction. “Lets put you in a safe little cage so you can watch your silver haired princess suffer…” He chuckled and took him to Evie’s room where set the cat down in an enclosed little space. Within was a all he needed and a tunnel leading somewhere, but if he looked out the front he would see Evie lying on her bed, unconscious at the moment.
“Keep her busy. I have to deal with Gregor…” Thrane closed the lid to keep Whiskers from getting out and left the room.
Whiskers scratched frantically at his enclosure and yowled loudly to his Goddess. She did not wake up fast enough so he started to cough and gag- making hairball noises.
Being so doped up on sleeping medicine, Evie couldn’t wake up even if she wanted to, but in her mind she swore she heard Whiskers yelling for her.
Whiskers actually ended up throwing up a little, and failed to wake up the sleeping Goddess. He spent several minutes scraping the floor of his enclosure trying to cover the vomit, yowling at Evie to wake up. When that failed, he decided to explore the tunnel, hoping it would get him out of this enclosure and where he could reach Evie.
All the tunnel did was lead him to a room where he could take care of “business”. There were a few other cats that just sort of stared at him.
Whiskers arched his back and hissed at the other cats.
The other cats just kept staring at him, keeping calm as they “took care of business”. One of them rolled her eyes. <You must be one of those spoiled house cats, right?> She asked.
<I am High Prince Wonder Whiskers.> Whiskers introduced himself grandly. <I answer only to the Goddess.>
<If by Goddess, you mean the silver haired girl, you won’t be speaking to her any time soon, Whiskers.> The cat replied. <They make her scream daily. Hurt her a lot. Nothing we can do since we’re just locked up in our cages.>
<I’m gonna get out of the cage and rescue her.> Whiskers was quite bold. <I’ve escaped MegaCorp cages before. I can do it again.>
All the cats just laughed.
Whiskers flicked his tail in annoyance and deliberately pissed on the floor next to a litterbox. He strutted back to his enclosure to look at his Goddess.
Considering the whole room they were in was a giant litter box that self-cleaned, all they did was watch.
When Whiskers returned, Evie would be awake and in tears, pressed into the corner of her room. There were bandages stained with blood all over her and she had only a pair of panties on. There were bruises and new scars, but her eyes looked truly haunted.
She looked broken.
Whiskers hated to see her in this state. He yowled loudly and scratched on the wall of his enclosure. "I never lost faith in You! Let me out Goddess!"
Evie just looked at Whiskers, not understanding him at all. The only thing she got was that he was as desperate as she was.
The door to her room opened and Thrane stepped inside, his eyes on poor Evie. “Good to see you’re awake, Miss Evelyn.” He said calmly.
“E-Evie…” She corrected in almost a whisper.
“I have no feelings toward whatever you want, girl.” He said dully. “Come along. It’s time for you to get to work.” With a gesture toward the door, he waited.
When she didn’t move he frowned and let out a sigh before she was suddenly across the room, her back slamming into the door. Letting out a scream, she fell to the floor and curled up, trying to cover her naked body the best she could. Fresh tears spilled down her face…
“Gregor finally came home thanks to you,” Thrane chuckled. “He wanted to help you, but guess what? He’s not leaving either…” Grabbing her by her silver locks of heir, he forced Evie to her feet and dragged her out of the room.
The cat that had spoken to Whiskers earlier trotted up next to him and sat down. “He does this to her every single day…” She told him. “We have tried hissing, clawing…attacking. Nothing works. He’s killed more cats than I’d like to count…”
Whiskers hissed furiously at the bastard abusing his Goddess. Every hair on his body stood on end, his pupils were fully dilated with anger. "I want to claw his eyes out!" Whiskers snarled. He climbed up the side of his enclosure and pressed his head against the lid.
The lid would not budge one bit and the other cat just watched him.
“How do I get out?” Whiskers demanded of the other cat.
The cat only shrugged. “None of us know.” She said and stretched.
