JP - Deja Vu all over Again

The girl looked panicked, she tried to speak and only made a rasping sound. She scribbled on the paper. ‘I can’t have that monster’s baby!’

“It’s okay,” Delilah brushed the girl’s hair back gently. “We have options for you. If you don’t want it, we can help. Frisk here is a medic and we have others at the underground too. You’ll be safe.”

“Don’t worry. You’re not alone, we’ll help you.” Frisk promised her. The girl slumped back.

Delilah gave Frisk a concerned look. It felt like she was staring at Tzeitel when she first arrived at the house all those years ago.

Frisk was reminded of Tzeitel too. Not just because the girl was in the same condition as when she first met Tzeitel, but she looked a little like Tzeitel too. Probably why the monster had targeted her in the first place. “What’s our ETA?” She asked Delilah, injecting more painkillers in the girl’s IV port.

“We should be there in about twenty more minutes.” Delilah answered.

“Okay.” Frisk nodded.

The girl watched the women nervously. The dog girl who tried to help her was obviously a meta, but two other metas had tortured her. She was afraid of where she was going. She had heard more than a little anti-meta propaganda over the years, and while she knew it was bullshit, it was hard not to think about it while being taken to their Underground.

Delilah conversed with Frisk about their plans to help others while they made their way back. The moment they landed, she was going to help with the girl, but a few medical nurses were already there to take the girl to the medical ward where Haven and Yule already were.

As they did that, Riven walked up to Delilah and Frisk. “Is that a victim of…?” He didn’t want to say the guy’s name. It left a bad taste in his mouth.

“One of his clones.” Frisk said bitterly, watching the girl being taken away.

“Are you fucking serious? One of those things got loose?!” Riven looked utterly horrified and disgusted. “Fuck!”

“Calm down, Riven…” Delilah patted his shoulder. “You should be resting.”

“I don’t need rest.” He retorted, fists clenched. They both would recognize the necklace he wore…the same one with that serum that cost him his life against Thrane before.

“He’ll be captured soon.” Frisk said, though she had her doubts. From what she read this clone was completely the same as Canestone, the only difference being that he was less impulsive. Canestone had managed to evade capture for years before MegaCorp caught him, he avoided even being wanted for the crimes he committed he was so skilled at keeping hidden. Then after he escaped MegaCorp he was free for months.

“I’ll help hunt him down if I need to.” Riven said calmly. “I still have these…odd memories of a time where I helped Tzeitel…and she helped me…” He clenched the pendent around his neck. “She saved me in a different timeline…”

“People are still remembering that other timelines stuff?” Frisk asked curiously. Enough acquaintances have talked about it and their experiences were compatible enough for her to no longer dismiss it as a shared hallucination.

“MegaCorp put all the memories in here,” Riven said, tapping his head. “I want to help the one person that was friend enough to save my sorry ass when I was a total dick…”

“What happened?” Frisk asked.

River pointed to the pendant. “Despite this not being used, I used it in that timeline and…she warmed me up enough that the cold and frost of my own power didn’t kill me…” He admitted, knowing Frisk knew exactly what the serum did to him. She was the only person he’d ever told about it before his “death” against Thrane.

“Wow.” Frisk said. She knew how unlikely it would be for Riven to survive using the serum. “She must have worked fast.”

Riven nodded. “She did…Tzeitel is far more capable than she gives herself credit for.”

“She has a lot of anxiety.” Frisk said. “It hurts her self-confidence. She could be more powerful than she realizes too.”
