“Speaking of Amber, you know what kind of power she’s developing?” James asked. “I’ve noticed some odd things…”

Lotus piped up this time. “She turns stuff into stone!”

“No, it’s…uh…petri…petra…petrifi….I don’t know the word.” Leon pouted.

“Petrification” Riley replied to Leon with a smile “I’ve noticed more statues in her room lately.”

“Yeah, petrification!” Leon chimed. “It’s so cool!”

“I’m guessing you and River are encouraging her to keep practicing with it so she can have better control?” Klaire inquired as she hugged her children.

"It has me worried at times but it's the best thing we can do for her" Riley admitted, "The last thing I want is for her to do it by accident, so better to train her now."

“She’s a good kid, Riley,” Klaire said. “She cares a lot about you and River, you know.”

Riley smiled " I know I just don't want her hurting anyone on accident. That's why we've been extensively teaching her."

“She’ll appreciate it when she’s older.” James said. “At least she’s not being forced like those of us born in MegaCorp.”

"So what about these two, any unexpected abilities?" He asked.

Both James and Klaire shook their heads.

“As far as I know all they have is my heightened senses. They didn’t even get a power similar to V’s…” She muttered, thinking of the man feeling like a stab to her heart.

"Silver lining then although I can tell they're already using those ears of theirs to eavesdrop" Riley chuckled.

Both Leon and Lotus stuck their tongues out at Riley playfully, getting a laugh from Klaire and James. "They certainly do. I can't hide anything from them, so I have to stay quiet about any gifts I get them," The pyro said.

Piritta walked by to look out a window. “Joo, she has no idea what she does to him.” Piritta observed and took a sip of her coffee.

Abraham was happily drinking his coffee as he peered out the window with Piritta. Chuckling, he said, “Think they’ll ever be together or will it stay like that forever?”

Leon and Lotus ran over to peek out the window with Piritta and Abe, always happily nosy little pups.

“I think it’ll be like this forever. I tried giving Colt advice years ago with Tzeitel and he wound up hooking up with Feng instead.” Piritta shrugged. “Tzeitel thinks he just magically got over his feelings for her after he chose Feng. She’s clueless. Besides, Colt is being such a manwhore.”

“He’s doing it to deal with his frustration,” James explained with a shake of his head.

“Joo, but banging random women doesn’t exactly scream that he loves Tzeitel.” Piritta pulled some salmiakki from her pocket.

“He hasn’t exactly left the place since he returned from the facility with you guys.” James pointed out. “Maybe he’s…I dunno, figuring out what he really wants.” He glanced at Klaire and smiled slightly.

“He’s got a point we dealt with things differently over these five years” Riley added “take Alex getting shredded enough to beat some megacorp dicks with his bare hands.”

“It’s been less than 24 hours since he got back. Colt hasn’t had enough time to find a random woman. He could go to a gas station for a scratch ticket and wind up in bed with someone.” Piritta pointed out. “Tzeitel got shredded too.”

James nodded and shrugged. “Lets just hope he realizes what he wants…”

Riley nodded as well before turning to Piritta “speaking of how is mr long distance?”

“Okay I guess.” Piritta shrugged. “We text all the time.”

“That’s nice and all, but do you ever try to meet up or anything?” James asked.

"If it's about expenses we can foot his bill to travel" Riley replied "not trying to rush you two of course but with everything that's happened so far maybe it's time for us to start taking our lives back."

“We’re always too busy being on the move.” Piritta said. “I have the money.”

“We’re probably going to stick around here for a bit. The cabin is huge and the Meta Underground is close by,” Klaire said as she brushed Lotus’ hair gently.

“That’s another thing. He’s not Finnish, he’s not even a meta. Getting mixed up in the shit we’re in can get him killed.” Piritta pointed out.

"I'm not Meta" Lyle replied "neither are Frisk and Delilah."

Piritta shrugged. “Olle isn’t Delilah or Frisk.”

"True but take it from me you can't put your life on hold forever" Lyle replied.

Piritta shrugged. “It’s a pause.”
