chapter 4 pt 1

rainey felt bad, she could see that alex thought it was his fault. how could she tell him it wasnt. she decided just to let it lie and focus on work. worke had been her outlit for a long time. it was easy to not think when your musles were sore and your feet hurt. by the time lunch rolled around she was hot and tired and not at all thinking about what happened the other night. she leaned on the wall and chugged a bottle of water before dumping some on her head and inside her hat. the had ordered from a BBQ place and all the other hands were making large plates of food. she grabbed a pecae cornbread then went back to work.

she hated the office. hated the way it always smelled like a doctors office and the way the people fake smiled at her. the meeting seemed to take forever. the bickered over money and staffing and a chairity event that would be taking place at the ranch as well as the yearly fuield trips the kids took every year. can bring a bus out for a feild trip but not to take them to and from? rediculas. she thought to her self. her thoughts were entereupted then by the next big issue. the city wanted to zone of part of the ranch to build a strip mall. it was the part closetes to town , pasture 9. the new building plans included roads and housing development. of course they were pressuring her to sale. she was having none of it. she knew the next steps they had been through it over and over always fighting to keep the land.
when the meeting finally ended she almost laughed with relife. she made her way to the landing pad and sure enough Cyrus was there waiting. when he saw her coming he opened the door. she didnt talk to him on the ride home just staired out the window and sipped her drink she had made for her self. once they landed she smiled as she got out. "thank you. it seems like you are doing alright so far. ill be done with you for today and the day is still young so find my oldest Kate she will put you to work..and reminded her bout the school trips coming in tomarrow for me please." and with that she turned and headed to her car.

Kate walked to the door and nocked not wanting to desburbed the rangers if the were really busy. a smaller man came to the door, some kind of tech guy, and lead her to embery who had pretty much made his self at home. she smiled at his feet on the table. "working hard or hardly working?" she asked a smirk on her face as she leaned on the door frame. " just wanted to make sure you settled in well and had everything you needed." she explained.

anna frowned at her phone. "flowers?" she didnt get any flowers. a small smile crept onto her face. he didnt know she was gone yet. he must have sent them to the house. she couldnt help but full on giggle. he sent her flowers! and called her beautifle! she didnt know what had changed but she loved it. i didnt get the flowers i left the rez. got a job working for a family on their ranch. se sent back. her mood was much lifted as she got up and staryed meal prepping. she pland on a roast. something she could put on to slow cook before going to get the kids from school. a txt came in from her boss remiding her that she was to shaperone for the kids trip to the kings ranch tomorrow and to please remember to make the sack lunches.

marley grinned at him "well good to have you then." she slowed down so she could trot next to him. "today is going to suck just so you know." she said brightly. no ranch hand liked this time of year. it sucked. it was slow work and hard work. there were 100s oc cattle that all had to be coulnted held down vaxed and marked. but it didnt bother her much.
