Frank led her to his car, a luxury automobile and they drove outside of town. Instead of a restaurant, he took her to his home. "I hope you don't mind a bit of my subterfuge here. He showed her through a grand foyer, with a massive, wrapping staircase to a second floor. Through to the back of the house was a lavish deck setup with comfy lounges.

He let her soak it all in a moment while he retrieved the wine. "Ladies choice," he said, "I've two bottles, a red and a white, from a vineyard I co-own; the 2013 batch was quite nice. The red is the 2013 Leroy Domaine d'Auvenay Les Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru and the white is the 2013 Leroy Domaine d'Auvenay Les Gouttes d'Or. Thankfully a a co-owner, I don't pay the $10-12 thousand we get a bottle from that batch."
