16: Nightcrawler (Jamie Braddock)

My horse trotted across the grass to where the locator said where Kurt Wagner’s phone was. I dismounted and dropped Freya’s reins over a low hanging branch patting her neck gently.
“Hi again Kurt. There’s three things you need to know, four if you count having to get into my riding gear to come and find you was irritating to have to do.
“First. It is incredibly bad manners to up and leave like that Kurt. That was very rude. You didn’t even think to thank people for saving your life. I know it was only a shot of antihistamine but a thank you would have been nice. What sort of impression of you does that give people? How would your mum react to knowing her boy is that selfish, self centred and self obsessed?
“Second. You have royally pissed off Dr Reyes for stinking out her infirmary like that. You have to stop using your power without thinking Kurt. It is incredibly anti-social, realise it has an effect on other people. The whole place is well equipped with this wonderful technology they have invented here called doors. Use them.
“And third. The only person in this place who hates you is you. The sooner you realise that the less shitty your life will become. Now my guess is you are the type that wallows in self pity because everything is always about you. And the reason for that is that you always ensure it is.
“So far you have managed to annoy Danny, god knows how you managed that the guy has the patience of a saint. You’ve freaked out half the potential fencing team. Nearly killed yourself because you could not be asked to check your food. And seriously hacked off the school doctor, who admittedly has the bedside manner of a Tasmanian Devil sometimes. But you cannot avoid her. She is the school doctor as I just said.
"And you have only been here one day! You can have friends here Kurt but not if you continue to be a massive German drama queen.”
