16: Nightcrawler (Danny Adeniran)

Danny was unsettled by the revelations that the circus was a front for all kinds of criminal activity, he wondered if he should get Kurt to talk to someone about that. Especially as his uncle was prepared to traffic Kurt for money.
“I am glad you and your mom are out of it. You are both here and safe. You don’t have to promise to study with me Kurt, I am not faculty, I am not going to feed that back to them. Or anything we talk about.”
They chatted a bit more and Danny said he could help with the basketball, he knew of two fencers here. “Ryuasaku Harada is world ranked but can be difficult to work with, I am not sure if he gives lessons. Dave Alleyne is good and has offered fencing lessons on the school noticeboard.” He held up his phone and showed Kurt the noticeboard page, there was a subpage for school groups and clubs. The picture of David Alleyne, a handsome black teenager was on the fencing tag. “There’s also Jamie Braddock, he was on the British junior olympic squad, but that was for pentathlon and I think they do fencing in that. He’s an okay guy, he might teach you.”
Danny blinked hard thinking he had misheard something but he had not. “Kurt do not ever call anyone here a pervert. We are mutants not perverts. And no I do not want to teleport, I will walk back to our room.”
He called goodbye to Mrs Wagner, saying it was lovely meeting her. He wished his mother had been as nice as Kurt’s. He would have loved some cookies.
